I am glad of the land not proud of it - an answer to the Flag Wars.

I am glad of the land not proud of it: for from the land, from the most basic of bacteria and single celled organisms we have emerged. I am absolutely horrified at the exploitation of land and people that is the very core of European National Powers, these abject flag waving, patriarchal, misogynistic xenophobia curating  wealth-as-power cults. Take a look at this:

If we nurtured the land and the seas, the air and the waterways and they were returned to optimal health, then I would be proud of our collective efforts to make it so, because that would be a fitting thing to bequeath to future generations....

In my tiny mind and heart, those who claim to be proud of their accident of birth identity and who wave its flags as an act of intimidation masked as loyalty are have been groomed by some dark State propaganda, they have become weaponised, some dangerously so.

The mangled corpse of a combat fatality, wrapped in a flag to disguise the horrific abuse of power that brought that person to such an ignoble and disgusting end, is not something to be proud of, it is not a worthy 'sacrifice', it is a crime scene.

Sir K Starmer knows exactly what he is doing and who and what he is serving,  and it is not the English people.
~

The British Wealth-as-Power Empire de-branded after WWII.

It did not cede any of its 'ownership' and control of the raw materials and human assets it was controlling across the former colonies. It is best described as the Anglophone Mining and Oil Industrial Complex.

It murdered every political leader of every former colony who dared to take control of their respective countries assets. Mossadegh in Iran is just one well studied incident. There were many.

Sir K. Starmer knows exactly why he is leading a Government that is actively participating in the Genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, as did Sunak before him, as did very British Prime Minister since 1915.

They refuse to allow any former colonies and countries they dominate to develop independently.

France is the same - Burkina Faso reveals this.

The only way to stop the British Wealth-as-Power (which is the driving force behind Zionist Colonial Expansion) from moving forwards, is for the English people to elect a parliament with a majority of men and women who will uphold and enforce international law, without fear or favour.

Labour is not the vehicle for that. Reform is not in a position to form the next Government, so it is not the threat is is being made out to be. It is a paper tiger riddled with incompetence and bigotry. Labour loyalists in their myopia screeched 'keep the tories out' (they were already well on their way out) and this placed Starmer and Zionism at the helm of Parliament. Now they scream 'keep reform out' in order to maintain Zionism at the helm of Parliament. This is abject.

Labour MPs who remain loyal to the Labour Party must now be told by their constituents, in clear and unambiguous language, that if they remain loyal to the party they are 100% culpable for activity ancillary to the commission of Genocide and that they WILL be held accountable, sooner or later.

Flag War Culture War

The Flag War under way is an attempt to foment a sense of civil strife within the UK, by egging on the always present racist, street thug, petty criminal and organised criminal underground to go over ground.

Their parents have been groomed to weaponise their own children into celebratory xenophobia. Hatred.
The children's caps say 'remigration'.
Who do we hold accountable for this?

The objective is not to start civil war, it is to input disruptive rhetoric into the public political discourse, and it is also to intimidate the middle class in case they awaken to their responsibility to stand in solidarity with the impoverished, the working poor, the disabled and every other vulnerable group, including immigrants and stand together to hold the English Ruling Class to account through the full implementation of national and international law.

A Solution to flagging rhetoric?

We have seen the flags cable tied to lampposts all over Britain and now in Ireland. Debates rage about what to do about this. I have a suggestion. Each local Authority could make up some white flags, with the local authority logo and a text reading : 'Xenophobia will not improve your life!' with a smiley, wink, and heart emoticon.

Troll them back.

Most of the adults in these Flag protests are property owners, petty landlords and affluent workers. They are not comprised of the working poor. Their activities are funded by right wing billionaires. So by trolling them where the flag their fetid flags, we reclaim the meaning of national love for the land and the people...

Policing is a problem.

Policing is compromised. They follow illegal orders. The proscribing of Palestine Action goes against the Geneva Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Genocide. The problems of policing cannot be addressed unless we have decent people in a majority, as our legislators, in the House of Commons.

The House of Lords is a serious problem.

The threat accountability presents to the Ruling Class is perceived as being existential, because it is. And they are also an existential threat to all our children’s futures. So who will you stand with? Will you stand for your children and their futures?

That is the question, the fulcrum. Who do you really love, respect and care for?

The Crown or your children, and your neighbour's children?

Justice and Accountability for Genocide will necessarily remove the existing hierarchy from power, it will reduce the wealth of the billionaires enabling genocide and it will set the pathway for global co-operation. There is no doubt about this now.

And the only people who can initiate this are the UK’s and US and EU Adult Civilian Population. We are the ones who must rein in our depraved, cruel and vicious Ruling Class.

Make Humanity Proud Again.

Survivors unmet needs and Irish Society's Health and Welfare of all Our Children.

A chara,

A suggestion for an article from a Survivor. Sent out to various Irish News Papers today.

Mark and David Ryan, and Maura Harmon on the Late Late Show RTE December 2022 source : RTE

~

Colm O Gorman speaks to the gathering at Mark Ryans Memorial in Dublin November 2022
——

Three years ago, on November 6th 2022, RTE Radio aired the international award winning documentary ‘Blackrock Boys’.

It featured Mark and David Ryan, and others, speaking up about their lived experience as Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse within Irish Boarding Schools run by The Holy Ghost Fathers during the 1960s, 70s, 80s… What they recounted shocked the nation to its core.

The Blackrock Boys documentary opened a floodgate long held back by institutional inertia.

Part of this floodgate opening emerged from a small group of past pupils of Blackrock College and Willow Park who had been sharing their lived experience in private. For the first time in their lives they began to understand that there were many, many more Survivors than anyone had imagined.

Representatives of that group had been approaching The Spiritans (formerly known as The Holy Ghost Fathers) seeking an apology for failures to handle the issue appropriately.

They (now known as Restore Together) and The Spiritans held a press conference on the 16th November 2022 in which The Spiritans issued a formal public apology, indicating that a Restorative Justice pathway was being developed between them.

The Blackrock Boys documentary was followed up by Joe Duffy’s Liveline hosting a 10 day series, where multiple Survivors courageously spoke out in public. 10 days, the most difficult to hear testimony. It became clear that the issue was much larger than previously indicated, that it was about all Irish Schools and that Survivors would have a central role in how Ireland rose to meet this challenge.

Mark Vincent Healy and other Survivor advocates, including Colm O Gorman, William Gorry and many others had long called for a full public inquiry into all Irish Schools, as far back as 2000.

Survivor advocacy has been a deep, intense and active movement since the Ryan Report and Bertie Ahern’s apology and flawed indemnity offer to the Church.

Then, in the first week of December, 2022, the RTE Late Late Show aired an appearance of Mark and David Ryan with their friend Maura Harmon. The trauma, pain and courage of the Ryan brothers was evident to everyone who watched their testimony.

It was a harrowing, moving experience for everyone who viewed it, and the RTE live audience in the studio stood to give them a standing ovation lasting 5 minutes. The shared respect and grief at what was told was ultimately a humane response to the story of their lives, their lived experience.

The combination of these media events and Survivor advocacy led the then Minister for Education, Norma Foley, to initiate a Scoping Enquiry, to survey Survivors of Blackrock, Willow Park and other schools who had also come forwards.

What did they want to see done for their cause?

The Scoping Inquiry was published a year ago this week, and shocked the nation to its core. I participated as one of many survivors in this process. I felt heard and understood for the first time in my life. Others felt the same. We all knew we were the tip of the iceberg. We expressed determination rather than hope. We were and remain determined. Our cause is just. Our needs remain largely unmet.

The Scoping Inquiry recommended that the Government established a Commission of Investigation into the Handling of Child Sexual Allegations in all Irish Schools over the past 70 years. It also urged the State to make redress to all Survivors. There were many other recommendations.

Then on October 30th 2024, RTE screened the documentary ‘Leathered’ which looked at Corporeal Punishment in Irish Schools. The levels of cruelty and violence recounted by Survivors was off the scale. Everyone over the age of 40 knew this was the way it was, back then. We have all been silent on this for decades.

Joe Duffy’s Liveline followed up with two weeks of elderly people, men and women, recounting the violence and abuse they had endured, the impacts of that, the impact of the silence being broken.

Clearly the culture of physical, psychological and sexual violence perpetrated with impunity was extensive, a behavioural characteristic of Irish Schooling, irrespective of who ran those schools.

This year, the Government agreed to the Scoping Inquiry recommendation and launched the Commission of Investigation into the Handling of Historic Child Sexual Allegations in Irish Schools, and it has appointed a judge, Micheal McGrath, to lead it. It is budgeted to run for 5 years, with a review after the first two years, to assess progress and adjust accordingly.

His term in office starts in October this year.

The matter is out of the hands of the politicians, and is now in the hands of the people, via the Civil Service, Legal Advocates, Clinical Advocates and Survivors  and the Schools - and the most important people in all of this are the survivors themselves, and their families and communities.

CSA when unaccounted for reverberates well beyond the individuals harmed, and when we are talking of tens of thousands of children harmed, over decades, then the matter is a societal dynamic that has to be confronted and resolved fully by the whole society.

One in Four’s Report on Attitudes towards Child Sexual Abuse in Ireland this June re-iterated this understanding that to address the issue of child sexual abuse by adults is a whole society matter. They pointed out that whilst schools today are notably safer, that cannot be said of other places where adults and children abide. The abuse of children in Ireland remains an endemic cause of harm. It should be exceedingly rare in a healthy society.

Research on previous Inquiries in Ireland, Northern Ireland, the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and South Africa has shown that repeated failures to include Survivors as ‘lived experience expertise panels’ in the deliberations at the core of those Inquiries has prevented optimal outcomes for Survivors and Society at large. Ask any of the Survivors groups of the past 30 years and they will confirm this.

The Tuam burial site and the story around it was not exceptional.

I urge everyone associated with this Commission to consider urgently now the need for a panel of ‘Lived Experience Expertise’ to be placed within the Inquiry, to inform its understanding of Survivors unmet needs, so that as the Commission of Inquiry proceeds those needs are met in full, as this will help ensure optimal outcomes for Survivors and Society at large.

As a survivor, as an innocent child my needs were not met, not once was I failed, but multiple times. As an adult my needs remained unmet because like so many others, I suffered whilst blaming myself, I suffered in silence and confusion, shame and self hatred. Even so I could imagine much, much worse. And so I coped. It was never about self pity. It is not about revenge.

To think of tens and quite possibly hundreds of thousands of others having lived through such childhood adversity at the hands of adults, as men and women coping with the impact of things that should never have been done to us,  coping with the impact of things that should have been done for us but were not done, breaks my heart. Every day.

Accountability is not a blame game, it is the most effective prevention strategy of all.

We need to face this, together, with solidarity and compassion, to ensure accountability is achieved because in doing so we will make Ireland a healthier society for all alive today, and for all who will follow in our footsteps, long into the future.

There is no higher calling, in my view.

A rewrite of 'Black is The Colour of My True Loves Hair : For Bisan Owda. Allah yahfazek!

A rewrite of 'Black is The Colour of My True Loves Hair'

For Bisan Owda. Allah yahfazek!

Bisan Owda Youtube channel before The Genocide

May you, precious Bisan, and all of the Palestinian people live long and prosper on your own land.

The citizens of the Western Powers must rise up and hold their abject rulers accountable.

Their enabling and participation in this Genocide is beyond all 'red lines', a betrayal of humanity, by the most depraved legislators imaginable. Their legitimacy is nil and void.

They hold power, but they do not deserve to. There is no forgiving, no forgetting.  There is only accountability.

SUMUD.

Sumud (Arabic: صمود) means "steadfastness" or "steadfast perseverance", and it is a central Palestinian cultural value and political strategy that emphasizes non-violent resistance, resilience, and a determination to remain on one's land in the face of oppression. More than passive endurance, sumud is an active, collective effort to uphold Palestinian identity, resist displacement and subordination, and maintain dignity through everyday actions and a commitment to a hopeful future.

----

Black is the color of Bisan Owda’s hair,
Her lips are like red Hanoun fair.
The sweetest smile and the gentlest hands,
I love the olive groves wherein she stands.

I love her life, and well she knows,
I love the grass whereon she goes.
Her truths are there, for all to see,
In her clear vision, Palestine shall be free.

Black is the color of  Bisan Owda's hair,
Her lips are as red Hanoun fair.
The sweetest smile and the gentlest hands,
I love the olive groves wherein she stands.

I’ll sing from the river to the sea
Unsatisfied, I ne’er shall sleep.
I’ll wage no war, nor political lies
And struggle on, for fifteen million lives....

Black is the color of Bisan Owda's hair,
Her lips are like red Hanoun fair.
The sweetest smile and the gentlest hands,
I love the olive groves wherein she stands.

Palestine will one day be free
The Zionists will have to answer to thee
The strength of your heart, your clarity of mind,

Your humanity and poise, your vision fine.

Black is the color of Bisan Owda's  hair,
Her lips are like red Hanoun fair.
The sweetest smile and the gentlest hands,
I love the olive groves wherein she stands.

We stand with you, we will not stand down,

Our hearts are yours, the whole world round,

No matter what, we will not stand by,

until you are Free, in Palestine.

Black is the color of Bisan Owda's  hair,
Her lips are like red Hanoun fair.
The sweetest smile and the gentlest hands,
I love the olive groves wherein she stands.

Global Strike to prevent the Occupation of Gaza. Oppose Palestine Inaction, everywhere

The claims of the Western Powers regards the justifications and meanings of WWII are void. They were void then and it has taken 80 years of global brutality to burst that sordid bubble of propaganda. We Western citizens and tax payers have worked for and funded the wars our countries have waged ever since. This must be stopped and we are the only ones who can. This falls on us that it may not fall on our children The time is now.

I have long called for General Strikes to force Governments to uphold and enforce International Law. The first time I did so was in the lead up to the invasion of Iraq. The Foreign Office most senior legal advisors had already confirmed, in writing, that the invasion was illegal. Senior advisors resigned from long careers.  Their letters were published and censored.

We have failed to hold Blair to account. Now we are being forced to reap what he and others have sown. But what we reap is as nothing compared to what the Iraqi and Afghan, the Libyan and Syrian, the Congolese and Sudanese, the Palestinians have been forced to endure.

We, as citizens and tax payers, had the legal right and the moral duty then and there, as we still do,  to take every possible action to stop the British Government from committing the crime of a War of Aggression.

We might have stopped Blair had we gone to general strike.

USA may well have proceeded any way. General Strikes across the 'Coalition of The Willing' might have deterred others from participating. we will never know...

Zionism is not Judaism. The conflation of the two is the most devious scam of the Zionists, In Israel and across Europe and America and elsewhere. Honest Jewish people who saw through that were labelled as 'self hating Jews' by the Zionists and Anti-Semtic by their allies.

A general strike may well bring the British Government down, and it will not stop the current military operation in Gaza, immediately. We could stop all the material support going to Israel and that would be a good start to holding the State of Israel and it's depraved leaders and it's rabid population that supports the genocide accountable.

Bono, Wealth-as-Power, Gaza (Give to the Rich to Help the Poor!) "The Thieves with No Shame"

Give to the Rich to Help the Poor!

As an introduction to this item, a short TikTok on the courage of the Al Jazeera reporter Anas Al-Sharif, recently slaughtered in his tent, trying to catch up on some sleep, among with four of his colleagues.

This blog essay refers back to piece of polemic about Bono and his 'charidee' efforts which was written in 2009... and I decided to update it after U2 released statements on The genocide that fell far short of being honest and viable.

Bono and Label Red, a 'well meaning' scam?

Back in 2009 I had been doing a lot of reading on the American Express and Bono founded Label Red campaign

Label red was founded in 2006. The idea was that 1% of sales of goods using the Label Red marker would go to AIDS charities working in Africa. Young people were exercised on the issue of African impoverishment. Companies were seeking young people as evolving consumers....

In 2008 American Express joined the campaign, issuing new car scheme targeting younger consumers. The business objective of their campaign was to enrol a million new young customers, hopefully as life long users of the service.

What I found as I read more and more was quite disturbing, yet not at all surprising. More about that below.

Celebrity is a weapon of Wealth-as-Power.

Seeing pop stars who are incredibly wealthy stand next to political leaders who cause great harm makes sense.

Celebrities are not really real people - they are performance theatre, actors performing for the purpose of extracting wealth, and when they join the Wealth-as-Power Class they enter the class war, because they stay silent on the causes of impoverishment, warfare, racism, misogyny that emanate from the process of Wealth-as-Power extraction of wealth from exploited populations.

Update to 2025...

Bono and the Band U2 release public statements on The Genocide, having supported Israel and America all the way these past two years and more... their statements protect Israel, lay all the blame on Netanyahu and Hamas, evade confronting USUK and EU Governments directly, they silence the voices of Palestinians by exclusion of any mention of their voices and they amplify the bands public hand wringing escapism. Bono accepted a medal from Biden, in the midst of the Genocide - he should have rejected it publicly, if he really was going to support the Palestinian people as a public voice.

Here is just one example of the kind of false, bland, unexamined narrative Bono deploys in his 'opinion piece'. clearly he has made no effort any all to understand the details of the complexity and see what is it that complicates the Western response - what complicates the Western response is that Israel is a British Empire Weapon, since 1915 and the first insertion of European Jewish refugees...
Bono is an Honoury Knight Commander of the British Empire. Bono's words ring hollow, masked propaganda most of his fans ought to see right through.

"Yahya Sinwar didn’t mind if he lost the battle or even the war if he could destroy Israel as a moral as well as an economic force. Over the next months as Israel’s revenge for the Hamas attack appeared more and more disproportionate and disinterested in the equally innocent civilian lives in Gaza… I felt as nauseous as everyone, but reminded myself Hamas had deliberately positioned themselves under civilian targets, having tunneled their way from school to mosque to hospital."

1. Bono has no idea what Yahya Sinwar 'minded'. Furthermore Sinwar was a representative of a larger body of people than himself, and was quite clearly not driven by self interests of any kind. His last moments demonstrated the courage that the 1916 Rising fighters, including who were executed by British Military order in 1916. Yahya Sinwar's writings and public utterances, which no doubt Bono has not pored over with any great interest, and his actions throughout his life, all of which are quite well documented, support that contention. A philosophy of courage, resistance and service to his people. Bono's sentence implies Sinwar was casual about all of this. As if he could't care less. Bono's self serving attitude leaks out.

2. The 'disproportionate' quality of the Israeli response was obvious within the first month of the Military assault. Israeli leaders had already publicly committed to a genocidal war, with leading politicians in the cabinet declaring their intent and espousing their view of Palestinians in Gaza (and the West Bank) as 'human animals'. A registry of comments by leading Israeli legislators that are quite blatantly genocidal exists and can be verified. This is not a compilation of anti-Israel propaganda. It is the self incriminations of the Israeli political leadership supported by 90% of the Israeli population.

3. "I felt as nauseous as everyone" awe, didums... Bono remained silent, as we who protested immediately, aware of what was being done, were turning sleepless nights, nursing broken hearts, trying to calm our outraged minds, witnessing horrors on our media streams we did not know were possible. Our hopes dashed repeatedly as the West refused to act according to international law. And what we were experiencing was a luxury compared to what the people of Gaza and West Bank and the Palestinian diaspora were living through. Bono's  claim that the complexity of the situation barred him from public commentary is banal, effete and ludicrous. His claim to being emotional afflicted is gaslighting.

There was no sign of nausea as he accepted an award from Biden, who was participating in the Genocide.

4. There is no reliable evidence anywhere what Hamas military wing deliberately placed themselves behind, within or under civilian infrastructure. Bono was not reminding himself of anything other than his acceptance at face value of Israeli lies, as if they were the honest truth, so cross my heart... Yes, there were tunnels, no there is not one shred of evidence of them linking civilian or religious infrastructure to evade Israeli surveillance and its bunker busting bombs, or of using civilians as shields.

I could go on. If I am wrong here, please point it out in the comments.

~

Here's a link to their full statements on their own website - readers can read. Make up your own minds. I'm clear on where I stand.

Here follows the rest of the original blog posting...

Marina Hyde, writing in the Guardian 'comment is free' web pages outlines a fantastic new philantrophic concept designed by elites themselves, the super-duper rich.

"Give to the rich to help the poor? An idea worthy of Bono."

Satire? No - a genius really has concocted a tax proposal to put our aid budget in the hands of the super-rich"

"On Tuesday night, 100 billionaires will gather at London's sumptuous Dorchester hotel, to watch Mr Ted Turner in conversation with Ms Carol Vorderman. Ms Joss Stone will sing, and some model or other will be in attendance. Can you guess the aim of this evening, which I trust you would cross continents to avoid in the infinitely unlikely event that you had been invited? No? Then allow me to assist. The aim is to make the government give tax breaks to the super-rich, in order to tempt them to give the same percentage of income to charity as the poorest 20% of people in this country already do.

Feel free to be taken unwell.

Initially I assumed the Fortune Forum, for so it is named, was an elaborate living satire, designed to highlight practically everything that is wrong with contemporary life. Alas, The Fortune Forum is all too real. It was dreamt up by an heiress called Renu Mehta, as a kind of vaguely benevolent mini-Davos."

Marina continues to explore this fantastic fantasy escapist world ... I think she doesn't go far enough. Like George Monbiot, she holds back the full fury of common-sense empathy and outrage.

Nonetheless, 'It' has to be said. And both are saying it with some subtlety.

The hubris of these immensely rich people, often from long lines of generations of wealth, has become, for the majority of people, an almost pathological issue, in that it is an attitude that informs many of the practices which we know are harming rather than assisting life, geared towards gathering and hoarding 'resources' and wealth, and often with great violence, and these super rich people know this, and they continue nonetheless, sitting on charitable boards, with all that is going on around the world, driven by their pride in their immense wealth and paranoia about their 'strategic interests'.

I have re-written the song 'streets with no name' as 'thieves with no shame', as a parody. I don't sing the song, as I find the melody irksome. I do sing 'I don't like geldof' and parody of 'I don't like Mondays'..... Goldloaf at least wrote some catchy tunes...

Both have done more harm than good.

http://www.corneilius.net/songpages/theives.htm Thieves With No Shame, a re-write of 'Streets With No Name' by Corneilius

The song -  'I don't like Geldof' by Corneilius

There's also background info on Geldof and Bono business dealings and investments, and an analysis of Label Red, sponsored by Bono, American Express and the large pharmaceutical companies who control aids medicine patents.

Article on Label Red - Bono and Africa, and the clever little scam. The information on AIDS assistance is horrifying.

I have sent this out before, it's not my own research, so blessings to all the various people and ways that info flows.

And it's worth repeating, it's worth all the effort to expose these fools to their own folly, and show them how they can help, if they seriously want to help, if it is to do with their experience of their common humanity, common soul, common nature and common sense!

We'll show them how by doing it ourselves, as many are already doing. Ask Jane Goddall....

Ask the lovley people, voluteers all, who facilitated The Spike community centre evicted by Southwark Council from their home in Peckham! A home the Council are selling to property developers, handing it over to the private sector for profit.... wealth is transferred, from poor to rich yet again, another drop in the constant flow.

One the one hand the rich have charidees, and on the other hand their ideology keeps shutting these grass roots initiatives down.....!
