Adversarial Politics is not our friend.

Adversarial Politics is not our friend.

Brian Bilston, Poet

Assassination attempts are always psychopathy.

There is something deeply, profoundly unhealthy in terms of mental health and behaviour behaviour of people in the USA, across the political domain.

One cannot take any comfort from political violence. In that moment Mr. Trump was victimised. As was the person who died from a head wound, and the two people who received non-lethal wounds, and to a certain extent, the gunman. A 22 year old, barely an adult. What did he learn that drove him to take such an action?

What happened to infant Trump. What did he learn, and from whom? What influenced his development, behaviour and character?

What is either person symptomatic of?

Nothing can justify such action, nothing, we do not need to make an excuse for either party - and we must try to understand. We must.

A problem correctly understood is half way towards a solution. A problem incorrectly understood is insoluble.

This is a soluble problem.

The adversarial dynamic is not the friend of the people at large.

The adversarial dynamic tends to empower predatory behaviour rather than prevent predatory behaviour. It enables bullying as a tactic and a behavioural problem becomes an institutional and cultural problem.

What is truly worrying is that it is intentional and incidental. The adversarial approach seems to incite chosen groups to engage in violence with 'othered' groups, driving ordinary apart.

There's no value in speculating about these events. We must understand them accurately. What does the evidence suggest?

Othering

"The term Othering or Otherizing describes the reductive action of labelling and defining a person as a subaltern native, as someone who belongs to the socially subordinate category of the Other.

The practice of Othering excludes persons who do not fit the norm of the social group, which is a version of the Self;  likewise, in human geography, the practice of othering persons means to exclude and displace them from the social group to the margins of society, where mainstream social norms do not apply to them, for being the Other" Source :  Wikipedia

There is a website that tracks mass shooting events in the United States of America.  It records every known mass shooting updating daily, often with multiple entries for a single day.To shoot other human beings one has to have 'othered' them entirely.

Clearly the United States of America is not a healthy polity. Too much 'othering'.

The USA is a State that operates more than 700 military bases outside its own territory.  In other States territories. A state with declared adversaries, enemies, allies.

A state engaged in warfare, in supplying weapons to allies waging war, even going so far as to enable a genocide. A state where regular mass shooting events occur. Multiple states at war. A pattern. A global cultural institutionalised behavioural dysfunction.

This is not healthy behaviour.

@millyoneire Replying to @badarttangent This BEYOND hypocritical speech @Biden-Harris HQ ♬ We Rise Against (Full) - Jonathan Paulsen

The sickness is systemic, a global culture of adversarial violence and power struggles.

The consequences of that are horrific.

Gaza, the home of 2.3 million Palestinians, in ruins.*

“Suddenly, we heard sound of a missile, and then a very strong explosion,” said Abu Hammad, 36. “Then the sound of screaming, ashes, and blood were the only thing you could hear, see and smell. When I pulled myself together, I remembered that my daughter had been standing near the school’s gate. I ran madly, and screaming her name.”

Abu Hammad started looking for her daughter, stepping between the injured, the dead and the scattered body parts, but could not find her.

“There were many bodies, including children, women, and men, some cut to many pieces, some burnt alive. The street was a pool of blood. But there was no trace of my child.”

There is much, much worse on Instagram, Twitter, Al Jazeera, Tiktok, Telegram and beyond, with all of these horrors intended by Israeli and seen by USUK air and satellite surveillance systems. The reality is undeniable.

What is that?

Gaza, The Sudan, Ukraine, Congo, Myanmar , Libya, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Kashmir, and so many other places.

Political violence in the service of Wealth as Power.

The hierarchy of a culture, any culture, can exert an immense influence on the lives of the majority outside the hierarchy circles who must live within the conditions they set. And the hierarchy class can and do often exert that influence with impunity. They are rarely held accountable.

In this case, the case of the USA, the political hierarchy is a well studied and understood malign influence, with lethal consequences for its own populations, and those of many other States.

America is not alone in this dynamic. It is a global problem. Adversarial dynamics among ruling classes is an ancient reality, alive and well today.

Historically speaking it is true to say that Competing Warring States is the prior geopolitical system, and the inheritance of that line of governance remains hugely problematic, in spite of liberal democracy and its promises. Liberal Democracy emerges form an adversarial dynamic without challenging that adversarial dynamic, which keeps that dynamic in place, and we all suffer for it.

Adversarial Politics is not our friend.

No more left tight tussles, please - it’s exhausting. I know this is not an imminent possibility. It remains a possibility nonetheless.

There you have it, on one easy to understand quote, from Tim Field

Tim Field born 24 April 1952 in Eastbourne 15 January 2006) was a British anti-bullying activist with his main focus relating to workplace bullying. He was the author of two books. In 2011, Field and a journalist Neil Marr coined the term "bullycide"

I tend to see Neoliberalism as just another branding in the historical trend of 'Wealth Extraction as Power Oppressing Nations'. I call this kind of system a Bully Cult. It operates as a bully, imposes beliefs to justify and rationalise the bullying, and it encourages bullying through curating bigotry.

The WEAPON cult which long, long ago created the adversarial system because even within it's constituents, the leading power factions - the Owners, the Kings and Queens, the War Lords, the Barons, the Hedge Funds, The Corporate Owners, The major institutional religions - all engaged in open and covert violent competition, where adversarial approaches were and remain the norm.

Monarchy the original knife crime syndicate.

It is a behavioural characteristic, a cultural pattern rather than a standard human behaviour. It is also a learned pattern of behaviour. Who teaches that? Who mentors children to become professional bullies adults?

Adversarial Culture is not going to help us.

My humanist political stance points out that the Left/Right dynamics of political ideology are inherently adversarial and that they cannot facilitate Mutual Aid approach to Governance.

These then are the settings born of adversarial relations and they do not reflect a need to abandon the adversarial model of governance, in order to achieve mutual aid and healthy governance.

Most users of the terms Left/Right believe the adversarial dynamic is inevitable, natural and that 'it is the way reality works' because it is here, has always been here in recorded history, and it seems to be inevitable. It is not.

I find at times that for me the terms Left/Right are inadequate to our political needs in these times. They carry malign, curated characteristic attributions, because they have become weaponised. They are used as emotional weapons. Dog whistles for the pain of impotent anger and the regression of revenge.

Hit back! Hit Back! Destroy them..

Historically the oppositional dynamic and psychologies of Power contained within Left/Right labelling are rooted in old 18th Century categorisations, from the French Revolution, a violent uprising that was presented as a struggle for liberation, which it was in part.

What happened was that pretty soon another violent hierarchy emerged to continue the ancient systemic approach of Wealth Extraction as Power, now represented by the Right,  in opposition to the Left, who represented the ordinary people in general terms, rather than specific.

Within Marxism, a contradiction is a relationship in which two forces oppose each other, leading to mutual development. It is adversarial.

This pattern of thinking ensures that the hierarchy and its violence persists.

Wealth as Power opposing the People

The term Left was later adopted to meet Marxian analysis, and the rise of Trade Unions as a political lobby protecting workers from Abusive Industrialists.

The Left was for Workers Rights, The Right was for Owners Power way back then and remains so through to today..

Both sides claim that it is ‘hard working people’ and 'entrepreneurs' and 'honest workers' who they appeal to and who form up their natural support base.  Factories need workers. Wealth Extraction needs workers. Workers towns need shops. Shops need workers. Wealth extraction needs to extract from every level of that. Wealth extraction needs workers.

While they are not the same, or comparable, The Left and The Right, they are bootstrapped by the dominance of the adversarial dynamic of power politics. That dynamic entraps all who participate in it. That is why it is allowed to persist.

That dynamic is a huge driver of the conflict, warfare and impoverishment of humanity - we have to call it out in public, and challenge it without feeding it.

And yet they both agree that Wealth Extraction needs 'workers.'  Both Left an d Right need 'workers' to 'grow the economy'.

What about the people?

They do not cite decent, warm hearted, intelligent, kind people, of all ages, creeds, languages, cultures and communities - the vast majority of us -  as their base. They do not claim the disabled, the vulnerable, the distressed, the wounded and maimed, the traumatised or the impoverished as their base. Where are they represented and where are their needs as yet un-met?

All the leading adversarial parties have a minority voting base, pretending to represent the majority view.

Mutual Aid is the answer to that problem. Mutual Aid includes all the people, all the time, us together in solidarity.

21st Century

The shituation has moved on -  the issue is hierarchy and abuse of power, the issue is war, where workers murder other workers, as ordered by Wealth Extraction Lobby politicians.

The issue is genocide. The issue is Climate Disruption. The issue is impoverishment. The issue is curated weaponised bigotry.

The issue is lethal bullying and that must be stopped.

These are global issues, because they are symptoms of systemic, cultural, embedded and normalised adversarial dynamics operating within every modern State, and operating between States. It is insane behaviour. It is causing intolerable harms.

An adversarial approach has no hope of dealing with these issues safely. It is not possible to solve problems like this using adversarial approaches.

Humane Solidarity is our Superpower.

I see the emergence of another political stance - Mutual Aid, Egalitarian Justice, Deliberative Democracy, Devolved Power based on honesty about the evidence and what it means. Emerging from the population rather than the existing hierarchies. Grand words, sweeping generalisations some would say. I would argue the opposite. Mutual Aid is helping each other. It immediately challenges the Adversarial Dynamic.

Egalitarian Justice is full public accountability of all elected officials, so that any corrupt behaviour is a criminal offence, with a prison term. Betray the people, pay the price. Same laws apply to everyone, nobody is above the Law, overtly or covertly.

Deliberative Democracy is where the people who are to be impacted by a policy are part of the discussion, with a view to prevention of avoidable harm to their welfare and security, informing policy and changing it where it needs changing, in order to meet their needs.

Devolved Power is about decentralising political power and the institutions of state, so that they are among the people, a workforce of the people, carrying out the day to day administration of good governance.

Working together rather than factions working against each other.

The constant adversarial struggles for power are exhausting.

The constant harm causation is exhausting.

The daily awareness of what is being done to innocent people as we go about our day is exhausting.

Being a witness to all of this is exhausting.

Going through it as ones daily lived experience is intolerable, a living hell. Beyond exhausting.

We, the exhausted witnesses, are in the easier place to mobilise as a political lobby to challenge the adversarial dynamic.

We are exhausted.

A new term emerges, Continuous Traumatic Distress, where the events that cause distress are always imminent and there is no safety.

The lived experience of a Genocide is a situation where masses of people are forced to endure continued imminent threat to their lives, in an unpredictable way, without end. Every minute presents a potential threat, many live wounded and maimed, and they endure.

And we witness from a distance, living in the States enabling all of that. We know we are safe, and that the Palestinians, the Congolese, the Sudan, the Royhuinga and others are not safe at all, they are millions upon millions of innocent people, families, communities, towns and cities of people who are enduring warfare, caught in the crossfire,  and worse facing a clear genocide.

What can we do to stop all of this?

What part of our State must we rein in to cease this activity within our polity, our country?

Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs misleads.

Another Icon on Western thought turns out to be a deliberately misleading ideal. Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs is a logical fallacy, an inversion of the reality about culture and human needs. Maslow spent time amongst the SikSika or Blackfoot Nation of Turtle Island, and found a highly functioning egalitarian society where personal possession of wealth was not considered superior, rather it was considered inferior.

Sharing what one has was deemed the normal and healthy behaviour by all, and the more one shared, the better in that everyones physical and cultural and habitual needs were always met.

Furthermore the way they related to their children was not about what the children would become, it was all about the children as they are, as they present, already fully a person, already self actualised.

This tiktok talks us through the basics.

I invite you, dear reader, to also read the full article, from www.resilience.org , for more detail, it really is quite fascinating and makes for some healthy common sense, from a decent persons point of view, in any language or culture.

Self-care matters

I don’t blame myself for feeling any of these feelings, for feeling disempowered, impotent, angry, outraged, hopeful, hopeless, sad, depressed when meeting all of this. These are natural feelings to feel in this shituation.

Regulating how I relate to, how I treat those feelings and emotions matters because it helps me to center myself, it helps me sustain whatever little effortI make in a more balanced manner. It reduces the likelihood of burn-out. I hope it makes my efforts more sustainable.

This is true doe all of us witnessing and dissenting and resisting and organising and not turning away.

We need to take our own self care, and that of our friends, family, neighbours ours and communities, apply it gently and firmly as part of the overall effort. Solidarity within our communities. A solidarity of compassion, heart, warmth and intelligence, feeding our efforts.

Perhaps this is another spring from which a trickle of active compassion can maybe become a river, with lakes and feed the sea of humane organised living, a healthy human species.  Humane Solidarity is our superpower.

The Peace Protests continue, the environmental protests continue, people are mobilising at pace, it all takes time, and that time between witness and action and resolution is painful precisely because we are witnessing the harms and our human empathy is intact.

Know that the most human and humane will to be free from oppression and dominance behaviour is inextinguishable.

The Problem of Adversarial Politics.

The Problem of Adversarial Politics - Bullying as a modus operandi.

a brief overview

Adversarial dynamics and struggles for power tend towards bullying as an underlay for the flooring of 'debate' - the point is to win, rather than to arrive at an accurate understanding that informs and reassures all involved.

"In good conversation, there is neither victor nor vanquished - there is only better informed and reassured participants."

quote from Tim Field.

https://www3.gmu.edu/programs/icar/ijps/vol1_1/Burton.htm

"The party political system is historically adversarial. It evolved out of past feudal landlord and commoner confrontations.

It became even more politically divisive with industrialization.

It retained consensus support and remained viable as long as its authorities were in effective control.

The hierarchie's political adversaries and grass roots activists could be criminalised and exiled. Poverty and poverty based crime could be contained by criminalising the impoverished, building more jails and by 'transportation' of the convicted poor and many more impoverished people as indentured workers to build colonies on foreign lands, at the expense of the native peoples.

But with communications that help to establish a separate culture for the under privileged, and with the availability of weapons, effective control of the alienated became ever more difficult.

With economic growth in industrialisation and their democracies there has evolved a dominant middle class. Its members have no desire to be caught in the cross fire of any historical we-they confrontation.

The press, radio and television and, more recently, social media have brought to its attention the absurdities of party political debate as a decision making process.

Furthermore, the members of the dominant `capital' and `labour' parties are now seen to be in conflict largely for personal career reasons, not because of policy differences.

There is a growing consensus that the problems civilization face must be tackled by less adversarial processes in which analysis and reason prevail."

Political Grooming and 'wedge' politics are designed to exacerbate the adversarial dynamics.

Use of dehumanising language targeted the perceived adversaries and marginalised groups within society is evident everywhere.

The 10 stages of Genocide - Sprouts Schools

The term 'sheeple' is a good example of that process, in that it inspires a sense of superiority among those who would use the term to describe others, who are deemed inferior.

We are all familiar with political and vernacular use of the words animal, cockroach, rat, vermin, monster, ape, snake, infestation, parasite, alien, savage and 'hate marches' as weapons.

The lack of humane understanding, the lack of empathy and the reliance on incomplete or inaccurate 'information' bias and curated bigotry are all stimulated by the term 'sheeple'.

This is one example familiar to me within my own situation and I cite it here because so many among my contemporaries, left and right, feel it is fine to use that term. I have always been appalled by that term.

I find that when I challenge it, I experience push back, dismissal and derision and an unwillingness to explore the meaning of use of such terms.

'Sheeple' is no less dehumanising than 'towel heads' or 'faggots' or 'dykes' or any number of similar terms.

Debate or Discourse?

Adversarial dynamics and struggles for power tend towards bullying as a underlay for the flooring of 'debate' - the point is to win, rather than to arrive at an accurate understanding that informs and reassures all involved.

"In good conversation, there is neither victor nor vanquished - there is only better informed and reassured participants."

How bullying works: projection and scapegoating.

Written by Kitty S Jones

https://politicsandinsights.org/2015/01/22/how-bullying-works-projection-and-scapegoating/

"Very few people, when put to the test, have the integrity and moral courage to stand up against bullying, harassment, abuse, threats and corruption. The targets of adult bullying are selected often because they DO have the moral courage to challenge; many people will pass by on the other side.

A target of adult bullying is most often chosen because of their strength, not their weakness. Research shows that targets of bullying tend to have highly developed empathy, and sensitivity for others, a high degree of perceptiveness, high moral values, a well-developed integrity, a strong sense of fair play and reasonableness, a low propensity to violence, a reluctance to pursue grievance, disciplinary or legal action, a strong forgiving streak and a mature understanding of the need to resolve conflict with dialogue.

Often, targets of bullying are independent, self-reliant and “different” in some way. Weak people often disingenuously confuse these hallmarks of character with weakness.

Bullies aim to inflict psychological injury more often than physical injury. Their main aim is to control, discredit, isolate and eliminate their target.

The word “victim” also allows disingenuous people to tap into and stimulate other people’s misconceptions and prejudices of victimhood which include the inference that the person was somehow complicit in the abuse. (See just-world fallacy and victim-blame narrative).

I use the word “target”, which is also accurate because bullying involves the intentional singling out of a person or group for abuse.

Bullies, who have no integrity, are vindictive, aggressive, demanding, and regularly violate others’ boundaries; displaying aggression does not respect peoples’ rights, and a bully’s “requests” come with a negative consequence if the course of action demanded by the bully is declined.

A bully’s bad behaviour is entirely his or her responsibility, they intend to cause their targets harm, to undermine them and damage them socially, emotionally, psychologically and sometimes, physically. And they often do."

Corbyn - making an example

Jeremy Corbyn and the false anti-Semitism, ‘friend of terrorists’, ‘communist spy’, ‘protest politician’ and ‘he’s unelectable’ charges laid against him present a recent and very well documented example of this dreadful behavioural dynamic. It’s sole purpose was to prevent a genuinely honest politician with a track record for integrity, honesty, empathy and a good understanding of the issues facing the body politic and society at large from gaining the position of Prime Minister, with  a majority in the House of Commons.

That bullying campaign was perpetrated within the Labour Party by a group who were aligned with Blairism (and its wars) and this was replicated throughout the News Media and online, through social media micro targeting campaigns, funded and supported by those concerned with Wealth Extraction and their power to protect Wealth Extraction from accountability for the avoidable harms it refuses, repeatedly, to avoid.

Healthy Governance - avoiding avoidable harms.

The function of a healthy governance system is to maintain and support the population in living well and at peace.

Part of that process is the deployment collective resources to avoid avoidable harm and to prevent preventable harms.

There are harms that cannot be avoided and there are harms that can be avoided.

War can be avoided. War can be prevented.

However as we see, again and again War is not avoided and we know too well that within war the murder of civilians and the destruction of civil infrastructure which form the essentials for ‘living well’  - schools, health care facilities, housing, roads, utilities - which are the basic human right of a civilian population caught in the crossfire of warfare - tends not to be avoided, more often than not by conscious choice.  The destruction is intentional, not accidental.

Collateral Damage :  A euphemism designed to throw a veil over the realities of warfare.

We cannot stop a violent hurricane from causing destruction - we can however build infrastructure designed to withstand the impact of such natural catastrophes. We could deploy resources to protecting the affected people’s welfare, supporting them in the recovery process.

Resilience

Rather than raw personal human resilience,  we could choose to build in resilience as an infrastructure policy and thus offer more effective and efficient support for the people made vulnerable by the storm.

Likewise, regards Climate Disruption, we cannot stop the process underway because it is the result of a few centuries of build up of Carbon Dioxide and other pollutants into the atmosphere that will take centuries to reverse. We can reduce or stop further pollution yet the effect of such action will take decades to be felt.

What we can do is design resilience into infrastructure, social care, wealth sharing, aid systems and so on to offer best support and protection of the people made most vulnerable by Climate Disruption - that would be a matter of avoiding avoidable harms in the near, medium and long term.

Bullying in politics is lethal.

Bullying in politics undermines all these objectives and more by at attacking the proponents of equitable industrial, social and economic policy as a method of defending the status quo, a status quo born of adversarial violence as described in the beginning of this piece.

Vaccinated vs unVaccinated is a false dichotomy. Here's why.

First thing to make clear is that there are billions of people who don't have access to vaccines. Vaccine equity is not happening at the scale needed to protect all those people.

Second, epidemiological and public health strategies to suppress community transmission of the virus to minimal levels are not being followed across the major developed states and that puts everyone else at risk - we have seen repeated cycles of transmission getting out of control because under the guise of 'protecting the economy' community transmission is being allowed to occur at 'low levels' - defined as not overwhelming Health Services, but allowing constant extra stress on existing Health Services - and that guarantees surges will happen and variants will emerge.

So what populations ought to be united in demanding is support to reduce the transmission in the community to the minimum, and certainly quarantine at borders to limit export/import of the virus. The techniques to do this can be supportive rather than 'draconian'. It can be done.

The vax vs unvaxxed adversarial narrative - essentially a concocted angry argument - is obscuring clarity on what needs to be done. So here's an exploration of why this matters.

Beefs.

There's an industrial scale practice of starting endless arguments, between people imbued with a belief, opinion, bias or bigotry in order to exploit their activity.

It is known as The Internet of Beefs.

It started out as a tactic to drive up traffic to a page that carried advertising, in order to generate income from the page. Start an argument, get believers on board, troll them, get them angry and sit back as more pile on to argue to win.

Start an argument, divide the room.

What is a 'beef'?

Venkatesh Rao the creator of Ribbon Farm Website wrote really informative piece where he coined the term 'beef-only thinking.'

"You’ve heard me talk about crash-only programming, right? It’s a programming paradigm for critical infrastructure systems, where there is — by design — no graceful way to shut down. A program can only crash and try to recover from a crashed state, which might well be impossible. I came up with a term for the human version: beef-only thinking.

A beef-only thinker is someone you cannot simply talk to. Anything that is not an expression of pure, unqualified support for whatever they are doing or saying is received as a mark of disrespect, and a provocation to conflict. From there, you can only crash into honor-based conflict mode, or back away and disengage.

The connection to crash-only programming is more than cosmetic, but it will take some set-up before I can establish the conceptual bridge.

Online public spaces are now being slowly taken over by beef-only thinkers, as the global culture wars evolve into a stable, endemic, background societal condition of continuous conflict. As the Great Weirding morphs into the Permaweird, the public internet is turning into the Internet of Beefs."

source: https://www.ribbonfarm.com/2020/01/16/the-internet-of-beefs/

Continuous conflict. Facebook algorithms that increase 'engagement' are rooted in this dynamic. Fight or flight hormone cascades drive the internal urge to win the unwinnable. Addiction patterns of behaviour becoming habitual. Rational discourse becomes almost impossible, and those who try to maintain a rational stance become exhausted.

Many of the online arguments that rage are rooted in this practice. Brexit was an example of this practice being deployed online and in News Media in order to seed irrational divisions across the electorate.

How rapidly the English democratic debate descended into Leave vs Remain as an endless argument largely void of rationality. How quickly previously calm folk became enraged, enervated, to the degree of poisoning familial relationships!

The Vaccinated against The un-Vaccinated against The Vaccinated.

We must protect vaccinated and unvaccinated populations equally, in order to bring this pandemic down to safe and managed levels that prevent avoidable harms. This is critically important given the inequity of global Vaccine distribution, unwillingness to share Intellectual Property rights and technology, which is rendering billions of people vulnerable to SARSCOV2, it's variants and the adverse outcomes associated with it.

Pitting one against the other is toxic and is a large part of the misinformation activity that impedes the preservation of our Right to Health within the specific context of the Pandemic.

image source: https://www.kff.org/coronavirus-covid-19/poll-finding/kff-covid-19-vaccine-monitor-july-2021/ - a study of attitudes which reveals the potency of misinformation, political grooming and adversarial messaging in influencing sectors of the population, in generating lateral distrust and social incoherence, preventing social solidarity at a time when it is quite clearly needed. Question: who has the most to fear from social solidarity?

what effective suppression of community transmission of the virus using non-pharmaceutical interventions and social solidarity in a population of 1.4 billion people looks like.

Vaccinated vs unVaccinated is a false dichotomy.

First off we are all human beings, deserving of care and the preservation of our Right to Health. Secondly, the vaccinations are superb, and they do offer some reduction in helping to avoid some of the avoidable harms, but not all. Thirdly, there is no real dichotomy in being vaccinated vs not being vaccinated.

That adversarial narrative is a concoction, a logical fallacy, or at least the adversarial aspect of this narrative is a logical fallacy.

It is part of the weaponization of words and ideas that is part of the wider political grooming operations underway.

Byline Times have published a few insightful and damning articles on misinformation networks linked to the Covid Recovery Group and The Great Barrington Declaration.

Here's why.

Given that the vaccinations were never touted as stopping transmission, only as reducing severity of symptoms, and incidence of fatalities, to function as a cushion for entire populations that reduces systemic stress to lower levels, giving us resource space. and time, to suppress the transmission of the virus in the community, locally, nationally and globally, the issue of vax vs non vax as an adversarial dynamic or narrative is a deflection of focus away from the deliberate failure to suppress transmission, and is therefore yet another way to obscure the public discourse on what is needed to manage this pandemic.

Suppression of transmission must be the global over-riding strategic protocol, because we know it damn well works. I and others have written millions of words on this, drawing from the lived experience and the available evidence. Allowing spread guarantees the emergence of unpredictable variants, some of which may result in greater harm. The only bulwark against that under the current situation is luck. We cannot afford to throw such a dice.

Mis-use of the Vaccine.

In the UK, which is where I live, (I can speak to the experience here) the Johnson regime abused or exploited the vaccine to lower hospitalisations/deaths knowing full well that their policy options enabled and allowed spread of the virus. They talked a lot about slowing the spread, they never talked about suppressing community transmission to lowest possible levels, except to dismiss it. Instead they spoke and wrote about 'acceptable; levels - which means that avoidable harms continue, at a lower yet still socially significant  rate, the '1000 deaths a week' as a 'cost-benefit rationalisation' of allowing spread to continue since July 19th.

Epidemiological recklessness. Emotional blindness.

75 seconds to describe Johnson Regimes opening up in July 2021

The point of the vaccines then, from Johnson's perspective, the perspective of those who wish to hold onto their existing almost completely hegemonic power, is to protect their power: because they sense that hospital, health care and social care systemic collapse would threaten their position. They fear that if and when public ire becomes too intense, support would evaporate and the people would demand their complete removal, to be replaced by a government of national unity tasked with suppression of community transmission (which has never been attempted yet in the UK) and so it was never about protecting the NHS, it was about protecting those in Power.

That stance is by definition an evil stance.

So when they called on us all to 'protect the NHs, save lives', they were gaslighting in full flow. It was all about them, not about us.

Certainly their concern was not about the welfare of all NHS staff, who were denied the pay raises they so clearly deserved. Certainly not about the millions of people receiving paltry state assistance.  Furlough protected the large corporate employers for the most part, 3 million small business people were excluded from financial support. Certainly their concern was not for the health and safety of all our children.

Trust.

Mike Ryan at WHO is someone I trust. He made it plain in March, April, May, June and July 2021, and ever since that the vaccines on their own were not the way out, that they were a cushion, and that the elimination or reduction to lowest possible levels of community transmission had to be the global strategy to protect whole populations, locally, nationally and globally and to start to bring an end to the pandemic. He was and is still correct. Stopping the Spread is Spreading the Love.

Why not spread the Love?

The reason USUK and EU chose to not do elimination is because to do it you must support the population in ways that amount to Socialist policy. Using central State funding to empower local authorities to do effective elimination strategy, confronting misinformation and political grooming head on with clear, evidence based communications so that the population is clear as to what needs to be done, and why, providing financial support that enables people to isolate, businesses to stay viable via grants, furlough and other protective measures are all socialistic policies. Those who argue they have tried ignore the facts. Test and Trace is a failure, PPE provision was handed to profiteers, the virus is spreading at a significant rate, people are dying, Long Covid is afflicting millions of people. That is not a success story by any measure.

The Wealth Extraction ideologues, the Neoliberal/Free Marketeers and others detest this approach - suppression of community transmission - because it shifts power away from the Executive to the Community, away from individualism, to the collective, and they know that if a population experiences beneficial collectivism, their reign, in philosophical terms, is practically over. The NeoLiberal ideology of the Sovereign Individual competing with others would be over, finished, dealt a death blow by experience. They will never let that happen.

We must make it happen to bring this pandemic to safe closure.

And it becomes more obvious when we understand that the same applies to climate, poverty, war and other issues- that the lived experience of working together to adapt to a problem and resolve it would inspire a huge perceptual shift, away from core individualism, (there is no such thing as society) towards collectivism. We are all in this together and we are only as safe as the least safe among us.

Democracy at it's very best is consensual collectivism

The Wealth Extractors will never cede this point, because it destroys their foundation and sense of entitlement to power.

We are all in this together. Vaccinated and unvaccinated alike.

The Vaccinated vs unVaccinated is a deliberate gaslighting, a false dichotomy designed to protect the established power system.

It really frustrates me, that almost no-one sees this for what it is.

Sometimes I feel utterly alone in this perception, and while I have some doubts, I think the evidence supports it, as it explains what is being done better than any other thesis I have come across. By miles.

I hope more of you will recognise the validity in the essence this perception, and add to it and I hope, fervently, that it will lead towards more effective action, locally, nationally and globally.

The Industrial System is inherently adversarial: it treats those who are harmed who bring attention to the harm as adversaries.

The Industrial System is inherently adversarial: it treats those who are harmed by the Industrial System, those who bring attention to the harm, in order to stop the harm, as adversaries.

The custodial sentences imposed on Insulate Britain activists for contempt of court are clearly a contempt of our collective welfare. In the same way that Shell's move from Holland to England is. In both cases, those who drew attention to harm and suggested ways to prevent the harm are being treated as adversaries.

Another way to put it is like this: political power struggles undermine healthy governance - adversarial dynamics inhibit co-operative dynamics. Any relationship that has a power struggle within it is toxic.

Industrial political Power is inherently adversarial in that it is profitable only because its foundation for wealth extraction is created by externalising costs.

Those who bear the pain of the costs and bring attention to that pain, and those costs, are considered as adversaries.

When those who are harmed find a voice and become advocates to confront the harm causation, with an eye to stopping the harms, the industrial cult treats them as enemies to be crushed.

This is a reactionary stance - the cult wishes to preserve the extraction of wealth above all else, and will attack anyone who questions the morality or wisdom of extracting wealth at such a cost.

It will co-opt anyone who proposes solutions in order to deflect real change.

The Industrial system is also adversarial and manipulative in that it imposes poverty in order to make low wage work seem more attractive, in order to maximise profit taking.

Low wages has nothing to do with skill level - it is a devaluation of human time in favour of institutionalised profit taking.

Every hour of every persons life has equal life value.

Slavery is about the economics of wealth extraction - maximum profit efficiency - in the first place, In the British and European colonies Racism was invented in order to justify slavery, after the fact.

Politics is the struggle for power - healthy governance is all about co-operation and de-escalation of emergent conflicts. These two are in eternal conflict with each other. The resistance of those who seek to dominate is what maintains the need to struggle for healthy governance.

If that resistance was dropped, the power struggle would cease, and healthy governance would prevail.

This is the central problem of climate change, air pollution, poverty as an economic lever, war as a tool of policy - the resistance to healthy governance is the problem we need to address, collectively.

We desperately need healthy governance, and to attain that, as electorates, as voters and as citizens we need to reject these struggles for power and dominance because these struggles are wasting precious time, (time we will not be able to reclaim) when it comes to dealing with the impacts of climate changing environmental damaging polluting behaviour.

What climate change and the SARSCOV2 virus tells us is that we are in this together.
