Secret Santa : and a christmess Christmas carol

Secret Santa.

Sometimes I wish Santa was secret,

that no-one knew his or her name...

more secret than the CIA

Egalitarian Indigenous Culture - good people, shared parenting.

so secret that no one knew of him, or her.

Or it.

It is a thing. A concept. Santa was always dead. Santa is a zombie.

I wish....

that millions and millions of microplastic tyred miles and tons and gigatons of plastic toys and wrapping would simply vanish.

They won't.

The plastic just gets smaller and smaller and smaller until we are drinking it without seeing it, we are peeing it.

A bit like Christmess shopping  - we do not see the poison, for it is covered in glitter.

We pay for that!?

The roads are still clogged with plastic shedding carbon dioxide exhausting metal boxes moving flesh and merchandise, for more shopping..

Patterns.

Faith in the myth appears to be sapping, replaced by open lies.

Mental emotional wrapping, a clingy film of cultural appropriations toxic mimicry.

Do it!

Unwrap yourself.

Do it now!

Feel the relief!

Imagine plastic

created to miraculously bio-degrade, by clear thinking..

designed to be

re-up

-taken,

(sorry Liam Neeson and Luc Besson!)

"we will find you and we will re-use you!"

thus, cycling nurture into a myriad web of living, caring for

the world that we make safe for all its children, for all our children, for all of their lives.

Will we unshrinkwrap our Earth?

I wish.

Wish is one thing, what we do another -

Some things are assuredly worth the bother.

Christmas?

I can't be bothered.

I think I am immune.

Though not immune to the pollution, not immune to the poisoning of the habitat, and, happily, I am also not immune to the love of chocolate. And mince pies. And family and community. Sharing time, feasting together, chillaxing in love.

Christmas without the pollution might be a worthy solution, the best gift we can give Is always love, because love guides action in ways that maintains a life of dignity.

From the cradle to the cradle.

this song, my Christmas wish, humbly.

Kindest regards

Christmas Climate Carol : Gently, Firmly, Change, every day - Vaccine Equity Now!

"If there exists a medicine that we know is tool to prevent severe disease, chronic disease, economic and social harm, then it exists to be made available to every human, every person alive. That is the profit of a truly good medicine. Indeed, that is the best measure of any concept of Health Care provision,

Likewise if we knew that chronic stress can undermine efficacy of the best medicine and practice available, then we'd want to stop the chronic stressor from causing the distress.

Abolish Poverty.

Save Live.

It's not so much to ask, is it?
~
Christmess Climate Song of Hope
~
Gently, Humanely, Linking Climate Change, Shopping, Wealth Distribution, Vaccine Equity and grass-roots Humane Political Interest for a Cleaner, Nurturant Healthy future for all our Children, everywhere, where justice is the presence of equity in all spheres of life. Imagine. Then build. Love.
~
~

I really do appreciate the sharing, the kindness, the warmth of family and friendly connections, the holiday break and the genuine human sharing that Christmas represents on a person to person level.

This song is not about attacking any of that, rather it is about, for me at least, deepening the kindness, expanding the care, nurturing each other and our children's futures. It's a hymn.

I imagine a more nurturant culture. I dream of this, and I undertake small daily actions to make that dream a social and material reality.

A Christmess Climate Carol.
~
It's getting close to Christmas

Christ! what a mess this world is in:

where will it end, where will I begin?

The ads for gifts are everywhere,

and still the World will not share the Wealth - (or The Vaccines)

oh Christ! what a mess this world is in.

~
Our climate's changing, people die

just so we can drive smoothly by.

The lights go on, hip hip hooray!

Goodwill to all on Christmas day.

Oh Christ what a mess this world is in.
~

Where will it end, where will I begin?

It will only end when I begin.

it will only end when you begin,

it will only end when we begin

the change, the change...
~

......Imagine there's no countries -

it isn't hard to do,

nothing to kill or die for...
~

Imagine there's no poverty,

no pollution too..
~

It's getting close to Christmas,

and the best give we could give

would be the commitment

so that all could live -

living in dignity! living in dignity!
~

It will only end when I begin,

it will only end when you begin,

it will only end when we begin,

the change, the change...
~
we are all in this together

What is the Carbon FootPrint of UK Luxury Shopping?
~
Even as we ordinary folk do small things to help, we need to vote in and support Governments and legislators that eschew corrupt influences from the major extractive industries and their down stream production and sale of luxury consumer goods, as a Wealth Extraction Economy, and turn instead towards design and practices similar to Cradle to Cradle, by mimicking  biological principles of nothing is waste, everything can be returned to the designed, production, consumption and disposal systems,  and learn how to stop generating toxic outputs and externalised costs to be supported by legislation and regulation, for all our sakes.

"It is common sense, you you put it like that, yes."

A poem, and a song, 'Sometimes I Wish Santa', and 'Christmess'

I get it. I get the gathering of loved ones, for a week of respite from the world of work and debt and worry and political  hypocrisy.

One knows we need  more of this, the gathering of lovers, friends and family, and less work to destrory the habitat in order to make Billionaires.

All the work that goes into consumer Christmas, consumer Hanuka, consumer Eid, consumer Paddy's Day, consumer Thanksgiving, whateva 'festival' it is, all that time would be better used just loving and being. No need for gifts or extra food. Just the love.

And nothing I ever say about this is to be taken as dissing that desire for family, for relaxing, for community in any way, shape or form. That desire is gem.

Connection is human, shopping is institutional cultural behaviour.

So here are two pieces, a poem and a song.

 Secret Santa.

Sometimes I wish Santa was secret,

Mental and emotional wrapping, a clingy film of cultural appropriation and toxic mimicry.

Christmess

Here is a song about Christmess..

This song contains a question, a situation, a stance, and then a nod to John Lennon, as a mid point, and a resolution.

It's a song I really like, and I think it's best sung as a poignant ballad,a sing of long term hope and resilience, rather than a protest song... I think this version is pretty much spot on in that regard, the recording was pretty slapdash.

All my own 'work'.... several limitations apply, obvs.

I send warmest regards, and kindest feelings to all my readers, whether you agree with my presentations or not.

We are all human.

This is our life together.

"Do what you love, it's Your Gift to Universe"

Thank you for reading this blog. All we need to do is be really honest, responsive to the evidence we find, and ready to reassess when new evidence emerges. The rest is easy.

Herod, Christ and the Evolution of Empathy.

Jingle Bells, and all that - 'tis Christmas, a time of good cheer to all men.

Logos of the companies exploiting parents and children to make profits whilst polluting our Earth home.

So here's a thought I present as a present to all readers.

Survival is not the same as Thrivival

These are two images I have crafted express the difference I sense that lies between thriving as a human community and merely surviving. Modern consumer culture is clearly not thriving, and it is close to not even surviving. Egalitarian cultures have thrived for many, many tens of thousands of years across this Earth. I know which state I would prefer we were living in. It is possible to live well, to be comfortable and truly happy as a community, to thrive without causing intense damage to our shared habitat. It is not thriving to live comfortably, worried, stressed out, dimly or acutely aware that we are causing irreversible long term harm and irredeemable short term harm.

"Survival of The Fittest" is in reality a meme created by the philosopher, economist, sociologist, writer and  academic, Herbert Spencer, in a book he wrote, Principles of Biology,  after having read Darwin's On the Origin of Species by Natural Selection: Or the Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for Life  which Herbert, and the majority of his class took to reflect their cultural assumptions in regard to their comparison between African, South American, Asian and Indian cultures and the White European Imperial culture from which the Industrial Revolution and their wealth and status emerged. Spencer was a white supremacist seeking to justify his stance.

It became a common re-interpretation (misinterpretation)  or re-positioning of Darwin's central thesis, and was never used by Darwin in the manner most commonly attributed today, aka that the strong (the most favoured races) naturally prevail over the weak in 'The struggle for Survival' - a phrase so beloved of Malthusian enthusiast David Attenborough and others less savoury, whose sense of the phrase is probably better articulated in the term 'might is right': people such as George Bush, Dick Cheny, Adolf Hitler, Pol Pot, Jimmy Savile and others.

Darwin first used Spencer's new phrase "survival of the fittest" alongside "natural selection" in the fifth edition of On the Origin of Species, published in 1869, intending it to mean "better designed for an immediate, local environment"

Darwin was referring to the evolution of life enhancing traits in response to environmental changes, which he observed in some detail.

It turns out that empathy is one of those traits or capabilities that has emerged in the human organism, as well as many others, as a life enhancing trait that facilitates and sustains long term existence really, really well.

Optimal Human Well Being is an Evolved Default.

Empathy, and indeed love, lies at the base of both effective co-operation and accurate responses to environmental changes. It is a bio-logical mandate.

It is also true that this behavioural trait is vulnerable, and under chronic stress can be undermined. The architecture is genetic, yet the development of active empathy is experiential, it is cultural...

Some cultures are more empathic, egalitarian, others are hierarchically violent. James Prescott's research reveals this dynamic spectrum and shows a correlation  between egalitarian societies who demonstrate high nurture of babies, infants and children, and hierarchically violent societies where typically there is a disruption of biologically mandated child mother bonding processes.

Sarah Blaffer Hrdy is another diligent researcher who has looked deeply at the evolutionary biology of the egalitarian cultural human.

Her work has been presented in books such as
The Woman that Never Evolved, selected by the New York Times as one of its Notable Books of 1981, Mother Nature: A History of Mothers, Infants and Natural Selection, chosen by both Publisher's Weekly and Library Journal as one of the "Best Books of 1999" and, her latest, Mothers and Others: The Evolutionary Origins of Mutual Understanding.

Hrdy has challenged, and transcended, many of the flawed assumptions that biologists have held dating back to the Victorian era. It is a body of work that continues to provoke and inspire a new generation of scientists..

Her key insight is that alloparenting - where parenting was a task distributed throughout the group - was a key shift in pre-hominid primates, and in early hominids that drove the evolution of a larger brain, the brain that can manage the detail of layers of co-operative relationships, that can manage self regulation that is required for peaceful, effective conflict resolution and bond building over generations.

Disruption of the biological default for optimally healthy behaviour changes behaviour.

Which is the logic or reason why torture (topical subject these days) and politically and ideologically based economic pressure upon vulnerable communities and people remain consistently utilized  tools of Hierarchically Violent Power - the bullies understand the effect, and it's utility.

Herod and Christ, and the people they have been portrayed as.

I am not at all religious, nonetheless I find their stories instructive. The crucifier and the crucified.

What was Herod's childhood like? We can only guess!

But we do know something of Hitler's infancy and childhood, as we do of Pol Pot, George Bush, Tony Blair, Stalin and many other leaders who exercised power that deployed massive organised violence and caused untold harms to largely innocent people (Herodianesque) and none appeared to have had the kind of nurturing experience that would have laid the foundation for caring empathy.

Alice Miller's book 'For Your Own Good'  touches on this subject, with regard to Hitler, Stalin and 'traditional parenting' in European culture, and is a classic in this regard.

No excuses, yet understanding the roots is essential.

This is not to suggest they - Hitler, Stalin, Bush, Cheny and any other abuser - are thus excused from accountability and responsibility for their actions and the harms and consequences imposed on others by their actions. Far from it, as there are many examples of people who had dreadful childhood experiences who emerged to become kind and caring adults.

It is to suggest that there is a way to understand, and thus prevent the abuses of Power we see as a fundamental pattern of what is known as 'civilisation'. And that lies in how we parent, how we as a society related top and treat our children, and the most vulnerable people within our Society.

Abuse and bullying are, at heart,  cultural problems. Some cultures avoid those problems by the way in which they parent and relate, others do not. The choice is ours, as we have the information, and the responsibility.

The choice is yours. It is mine.

Let us all make that choice as our daily Christmas present to ourselves, our families, our communities and our culture.

Kindest regards

Corneilius

I Saw Vishnu

Here's a song I love to sing.

It's a call to all the religions to unite as one. It is my sense of  the wonder of being a living being, expressed in diverse complementary ways.... it's a call to revere each other and it's my claim that life is, for me, in spite of all I have lived through, so much better than anything the religions say the heaven or the after life holds for us. The idealised future is not as important as the peaceful present as a continuum.

There's also a message to our leaders to nurture the children of Gaza, that they might sing, dance and play with their neighbours. What possible objection could they raise to that suggestion?

 Kindest regards

Shopping, War and Santa..........

I am encouraged when hearing how many people are learning in their own lives the lost art of listening to children, and how again and again we discover that innate intelligence is the norm, the natural state.

This culture is merely a measure of how far from that state we been pushed,  manipulated, led, or indeed beaten and have adjusted to simply because there is no other option, bar violence - and we know violence does not bring peace - so we quite sensibly avoid it.. As ordinary folk we have no comparative power with which we can change the culture, unless we are fully in solidarity with one another, as human beings, as people.

I understand the entities we know as the state, the church, the bank, the military and many other institutions that wield power over peoples large scaled up dysfunctional families with angry, violent and abusive parents who try to hide the truth and keep up the appearances of ‘normality’ and a captive population that falls into the roles of children trapped in that family.

I have found that correlation can help to explore than then articulate an understanding that the macro psychology is built upon the micro psychology, it's the same behaviours scaled up to institutional levels..

Fractals of conditioned behaviours, ripples on the surface, currents in the deep.

The Hierarchy of this 'culture' is constantly re-adapting it's presentation in the face of repeated liberation of perception.

The controllers of that adaptation and the institutions they utilise are populated by people and structural entities who have been trained to work in the creation of what becomes the cultural narrative.

No-one is outside the systems reach.

That's the idea, at any rate. Education and Marketing in combination ensure that the psychological messages being are being tested, and as they refine the content more are are taken up,

Wearing obe down..

Breaking the spirit. As it ever was in the elite education methodologies, based as it was in their child-rearing practices from which it sprang.

"Give me the child until seven years have passed, and I will give you the man!"

The history of the documentation and dissemination of child rearing practices is also the history of Empire.

The first books of that nature, manuscripts written for the families of the elites, were the equivalent of military rules of engagement, for there was an enemy (the child’s natural sinful state), there was weaponry (corporal or other cruel punishment), there was a methodology (the subjugation of that spirit) and a goal : the victorious master would 'produce' a useful member of the Empire.

One who actively accepts the indoctrination and subsequent submission to authority.

Beyond that, from the viewpoint of those who set the state systems of education in place, the utility of education is minimal.

The variations that are allowed, so that the system looks like it is changing, simply enable the infra-structure of human occupy-able industrial relationships (jobs) to be built into and within the systems of bureaucracy, and control and by giving it the appearance of ‘work‘, by creating the concept of ‘career’, all of which follow on logically from school, and by then applying that to the most ludicrous of activities, (sanitation engineer = janitor!) with varying rewards upwards for more blind obedience, by doing this and more it is ensured that most people are hoodwinked and taken in by it.

Absorbed. Work is the problem. Shopping is designed to make too much hard or pointless work seem like it is worth it, by virtue alone of the money earned, and what proportion of that is 'disposable' .

By hyping the reward driven activity, (mortgages to buy house to make money) hiding the slavery, with ever shorter durations of that feeling of well-being that comes with shopping and consuming, before another 'hit' is required to mask again the un-ease the psyche feels in this occupational vice.

The roots of much addiction.

Shopping is responsible for 70% of human driven environmental degradation. Stop Shopping!

Wars are being fought over resources that are needed to keep the shopping going. Stop Shopping!

Shopping can be done with tomorrows resources too, which means we are already disposing of our children’s children’ s resources - a fatal and somewhat genocidal gluttony!

Rain forests are fast becoming human excrement, destroyed daily to enable a constant flow of burgers, animal feed and waste paper to be made in huge quantities so that every child can taste a Big Mac! Stop snacking on processed foods!

 It really is that simple.

We are losing connection with each other, with our children, our parents, our brothers and sisters, because our time is increasingly taken up with work and shopping (which includes consuming and waste disposal as well, just to complete the cycle!) It is that simple.

Any child will see that, clear as daylight itself. On a sunny day, of course.

There’s just so much to do, and so much being to experience…….

Grow your own food as much as you can.

Spend your living time awake to nature's gifting.

They duck when shoes are incoming! Stop bombing other peoples countries and cities and towns!

I hop you all have a nurturing time, and that you are nurtured...
