Indoctrination (education/media) as a political tool of oppression.

I said it before. I write it again.

An electorate that is presented with a caricature of reality who accept it at face value is unqualified to vote.

Governance of the public weal demands evidence, not personalities and our opinions about things we do not have full knowledge of.

Wounded Knee
----

The REAL reason for the American Revolution was not to do with 'no taxation without representation' or 'tea'.

It was to break a legal standard that European powers were creating that recognised indigenous nations polities and land tenures as being of equal standing in Law with European States.

The 'land owning' elites of the colonies had already established dynastic lines of dominance and wanted to take all the land 'from sea to shining sea' which was 'occupied' by many tens of millions of native peoples and their cultures... to build a new Empire.

Manifest Destiny they called it and still call it, only now it applies to the entire globe.

So they broke from Europe... and then started to plan how to take the lands they wanted....

forced assimilation or death

#NoDAPL

Treaties, small pox blankets, small homesteaders (who were formerly indentured workers), outright slaughter, forced assimilation, planned from the very beginning, maintained for 400 years... still operating today @ #NoDAPL

And all through it the native peoples repeatedly tried to sue for peace... warfare as a Native response was minor by comparison (despite the implications of all those 'westerns' we were all raised upon) to the murderous behaviour of the US State.

And the truth is few Americans get this.

And the elites created the base for institutional racism, through media of papers, pamphplets and churches, to ensure that the slaves and the natives, the demonised, dehumanised, would be treated as less than human.

That is a feat of social programming comparable to Christians and their bible, Islam and the Quran, Judaism and The Torah, and Zionism.

These are all tools of Power.

--

And the tactic of taking one groups land and then making a peace treat with the next group westwards, a peace treaty, all official and ceremonial, peace pipes and gift exchanges was most common. False peace speeches.

The treaty would be signed by the US Government... and a year or two later incursions would start, false flag ops would happen, media stories would hype racism, violence would escalate..... sounds familiar?

Libya, Syria?

What kind of people mediate this degree of longitudinal cruelty, duplicity, deceit, theft and social conditioning all this entails over half a millennia?

What kind of organisation is required to maintain that over that period...?

How good a manipulating a populations psychology do they have to be?

---

And the icing on the cake?

They crafted the 'no taxation without representation' in order to bind indentured workers, slaves, servants, labourers, shopkeepers, artisans, small land holders, homesteaders, hunters, etc by pretending it was all about them..... 'YOUR FREEDOM'.

And it worked, just as Obama's HOPE worked.

Just as Trump's "make America great again" worked.

Just as Farages 'Take our Country back' worked.

Politically a majority of people are naive to the hilt, and extremely vulnerable to being manipulated and usually totally unwilling to admit it, and the system is expert at grooming the angry to fit whatever agenda they want to play out.

The right wing move was in the planning long time.

----

Protests in the USA against Trump.

A set-up.

Agent provocateurs agitating naive youth and others to take to the streets.

Planned.

By the Establishment, to deepen the divisions within the US population.

The speeches by Clinton and Trump were designed to give them a free pass.
The naive will take those speeches at face value.

They are working together, always have been.

This is how ruling elites operate.

Maggie Thatcher's "Where there is discord, let me sow peace'....
etc.

Two antidotes to indoctrination - awareness and autonomy

These are the two antidotes to indoctrination - awareness and autonomy

Awareness is being sensitive to the world, paying attention to the world, observing, hearing and feeling the world, and reflecting upon it from our centre and being able to subject all of that to acritical analysis, that allow us to see it as it really is, and understanding it, we can integrate it.

Autonomy is the recognition of that centre, ones self, and by extension, recognizing it in all others and respecting that presence in all others.

Both are keyed into natural empathy and sense of self.

Indoctrination is a process by which these are undermined. One's emergent sense of self is replaced with externally sourced opinions, feelings, perceptions, beliefs.

Take for example the indoctrinated mainstream concept of Self Defence:

Which says "violence is ok if you are defending yourself."

Example:

No one in Northern Ireland was 'defending' anything, or anyone, by resorting to violence..

The violence derailed and disrupted the peaceful Civil Rights Movement. That was the intent. That was the outcome. Both 'sides' claimed self defence, both sides were lying to themselves and everyone else.

In each case one has to examine the specifics - a generalisation works across a population as a pattern identifier, as a tool of discourse but cannot be applied to the individual human case or singular event.

So for me the specifics are to be found by asking  what happened, what was done, who did it, to whom was it done and was there harm caused?

It wasn't 'Irish Catholics', it was bullies (mostly gangsters at the start) who happened to be Irish Catholics, and bullies who happened to be 'Unionist Protestants' and bullies who happened to be 'The British Security State' who launched a war at each other through attacking each other and attacking innocent civilians.

It's not Jews, it's bullies who happen to be Jewish, in the case of Israeli State Violence against the Palestinian people just as it's bullies who happen to be National Front, just as it's bullies who happen to be indoctrinated by Saudi Wahhabism and call themselves ISIS - just as the local youth gang and the local adult organised criminals are all bully institutions. They all have 'identities' which are largely irrelevant but which can be used to obscure the truth. The Bullying is what is relevant.

It's not Americans, it's bullies who have occupied American State and Military office and abused that office.

Bullies can wear a flag, a uniform, an ideology, a justification – none of that alters the banal truth : they are bullies.

It's not The State Police Force, it's the bullies within that Institution - they are the people who need to be identified and removed.

It goes without saying that all these Institutions of Power and Governance have long been occupied by a ruling class and their acolytes, mercenaries and defenders.

We KNOW why bullies bully the strong. Because the strong present a threat. We know why they exploit the weak. Because they can get away with it. We know why they use manipulation and indoctrination, as well as economics, as weapons, to enrol our children into their mythologies. We all go through the enrolment process of Compulsory State Education.

The behaviour is the issue, not the 'explanations'.

Self defence has a logical, self defining limit and the logical limit is this: to stop the attacker from completing the attack so that the threat is removed and the defender can gain safety again.

No further.

Further than that and it becomes an attack.

So I see how those who claim to defend 'justly' can become adapted to the new state of at war-ness if they are not aware, in that they become adept at war, at ease with war and end up becoming oppressors in turn.

This happens in every war, and on all sides.

War does this. Nobody wins a war. Everybody loses.

War is not a situation with a good guy bad guy narrative.

Anyone who claims or promotes the idea that (a/any) war is a good guy bad guy situation is one or all of these:

a) utterly deluded,
b) not paying attention to the available evidence,
c) psychologically immature
d) part of the violence creation system
e) in the secret service
f) indoctrinated by school history texts
g) in the military, yet to experience combat
h) really, really naïve
i) making a fortune out of war
j) a religious fanatic
k) weapons salesman
l) a dolt
m) a poltroon
n) an ejit
0) a misinformed individual
p) someone who needs help
q) a behaviourally modified organism ( BMO)
r) a 'conditioned' human being needing compassion
s) another chance to change the world, one person at a time
t) me, some 40 years ago, when I left school, and believed that there was such a black and white reality to 'war' of which I knew only through my history texts and Hollywood movies.

In other words I knew nothing and did not know that I knew nothing. I thought I knew something, yet was unsure as to what that was. That was the intended outcome of 12 years of successful indoctrination.

Lack of awareness, peer pressure and compliance, loss of genuine autonomy

I am being honest here, I was as deeply socially, religiously indoctrinated and warped, and I remember that state and I cannot judge another human being for being in that state.  I am not superior to any other. There are no sheeple.

I sat and watched ‘Dallas’ at the edge of my seat.

I believed Tony Blair was going to make a healthy difference.

I thought that war was good because of all the useful inventions that it generated and that ‘our’ side was always right.

I believed in the Catholic God and prayed feverishly to statues even as I was being abused by priests, brothers, nuns, lay teachers.

I once thought I was an ‘entrepreneur’. I once believed I was both better than or worse than others.

I have be strong enough to trust, and walk with and perhaps indicate ways of looking and living that can help that persons awareness and autonomy emerge. It will always be their choice, their autonomy in the matter than matters most.

Many people have done the same for me. I am ever grateful to all those people.

Millions are doing this every day without any press release or publicity.

If you gather ‘news’ mostly from the mainstream, without a history background or ways to check sources, examine evidence, you’d hardly know this. It’s aim is to mask as much of this humane activism as possible with a negative fear based view of humanity’s future, and by extension other human beings….

It’s a lot of lies and manipulations, with enough truths and reliable reporting to carry it off.

These are the two enemies of indoctrination - awareness and autonomy.

These are the targets of the bully – anyone showing signs of either of these qualities that might inspire or energise others to do likewise.

Think for yourself, question Authority, dig for the evidence, take responsibility as the autonomous connected social nurturant animal you are. I am.

Awareness and autonomy makes the Emperor naked.

Ancient 21st Century Skills: optimal human biological health

21st Century Skills : This list was posted by a friend, on face book, without the comments after the colon...

Those are mine.

problem solving, : not taught in schools

analytical thinking, : not taught in schools

systems-thinking : not taught in schools

credibility and judgment of information : not taught in schools

technology fluencies : only taught in terms of consumerism, in schools

the ethics of fair play : taught in schools, yet not applied, oracticed in a meaningful manner, and so a sense of basic injustice and outrage is common in all school leavers, they sense the hypocrisy but find it difficult to pin it down.

collaboration in cross-functional teams : not taught in schools

accessing knowledge networks : not taught in schools beyond the limits of approved texts.

Compulsory Indoctrination masquerading as Education ... is a real problem, and we are seeing the symptoms of that problem across this election, and in many other places...  I don't blame the indoctrinated, I blame the intentional indoctrinators, they know what they are doing.

problem solving, : identifying the problem, critical thinking, access to reliable data, testing of solutions, responding to new information

analytical thinking, : critical thinking, sourcing data, questioning assumptions, avoiding opinion
systems-thinking : being able to investigate and describe accurately how systems function, or how they are dysfunctional

credibility and judgment of information : comparing data sources, access to and understanding of research methodologies, assessment of outcomes, observation of what is

technology fluencies : understanding what is being used, what is available, the limitations of extant tech, what is appropriate

the ethics of fair play : self empathy, empathy for others, and a sense of humane responsibility, do no harm

collaboration in cross-functional teams : how to work with others who have experience in different areas, and how to learn from others within a diverse group, when the need arises.

accessing knowledge networks : knowing where to search for information, knowing where to find people who are skilled in any given area, feeling centred enough to approach those with the knowledge

These are all skills a healthy Aboriginal child in a healthy human community would have developed by the age of physical maturity, when they are ready to become parents.

That these skills are largely inhibited, limited, ignored or avoid in compulsory schooling says a lot more about schools actuall function in this Hierarchcially Violent Society, and we can all see how they impact each generation of parents, who send their children to schools to learn the same lessons, to submit, to obey, to fall into line, even as they love their children, as they assuredly do.

Internalised Values or Externalised Experience, and Resistance.

"Resistance is not a question of intellect, it is a matter of access to the true self." Alice Miller ..

Understand the culture you were born into.

Understand the biology and the nature of the natural baby, infant, child, and the natural adult.

The baby, being natural, externalises his or her internal world, he or she communicates how they feel, what they want, what they fear, which are all internal experientials, and if this is met with empathy, if the mother and father and other carers, and siblings understand and respond appropriately, then the child grows in confidence that his or her inner world is understood, validated... it is this experience that writes in the neurology and physiology of self empathy, from which empathy for others emerges. Neuro-plasticity is the term that describes this quality of an alterable brain, a developing structure dependent not on programmed genetic but on experience for it's natural formation and development.

If, on the other hand, for whatever reason, the baby is met not with empathy but confusion, fear or anger or excessive control or projection, then this crucial learning cannot happen, and the baby learns to adapt to the external world and internalises the values of that world in experience, thus replacing her or his inner world with these externals, leading to self alienation. This is the basis of all neuroses.

ALL indoctrination processes, be they Religious or State Education, or Military Training etc deepen this process of internalisation of the external world, which leads to a state of fundamental neurosis as a normative.

Poisonous Pedagogy is the term applied to this entire phenomenon.

Power based social systems demand that all who are born into them undergo this process, because that is the deepest undermining of resistance... that it is not a perfected process speaks to the innate resilience and self healing of the human being as a natural organism. Power systems are continually refining their indoctrination processes to meet this emergent resistance. This is what 'reform' usually means in effect.

That said, the effects of such processes are statistically significant, and are enough to perpetuate such systems of power relationships as complete cultures...

Power systems can handle the few rebels, the few insightful writers and teachers, the few who are able to pierce the bubble. They can be portrayed as 'heroes' or as 'demons' depending upon the circumstances, yet hat portrayal will always separate them from the 'norm', which is it's intention - to turn such people into super humans, people one cannot hope or should not hope to emulate...

People are not to be blamed for being falling into the conditioned state - we are all of us vulnerable, and those who seek to help Society into recovery must bend their efforts to supporting that recovery by nurturing others, by developing humanising behaviours and processes which lead to that sense of self, of autonomy and connection that emerges from self empathy.

This explains the all too common phenomenon of people 'trying to find themselves.'

And of course, many cults and religions prey on this by providing an erstatz identity within a communal setting..... so too with nationalism, etc etc etc

Rape, Power and Activism

Rape is one of many abuses that are effectively cultural markers, made so by their prevalence in certain societies and the absence in others...

Industrial Society rapes the soil (pharming), the ground (mining), the sea (over fishing) abuses workers (low wages), other cultures (Aboriginals, Indigenous peoples) and the rapist rapes the victim, the child rapist rapes the child and it is NEVER just about the action of  mining, digging, fishing, the sexual assault.

In many ways these are the medium through which that kind of Power is expressed. And whilst the experience of each kind of assault is horrific, and for those who suffer it, a serious and debilitating trauma from which the action and the motivation are extremely difficult to distingish, those who seek to help the suffering in the long term, those who are concerned with activism in these areas must always keep in mind that the issue is very much about Power.

It is also about the POWER to avoid the truth of the outcomes for what is acted upon, what is abused, who is victimised that is the real issue.... that avoidance allows the abuser to retain Power, and is in essence the immaturity of a consciousness that refuses to address the outcomes of it's behaviour, which always leads to more abuse and creates lots of traumatised organisms in it's wake, which is NOT a biological mandate.

And it's a behavioural issue, so it is tractable which is to say it is a matter of choice,  there is this element of volition and thus the behaviour open to being resolved, changed.

However it requires a clear and unprejudiced observation of the behaviour and outcomes, a kind of fearlessness and determination textured with a degree of empathy and psycho-cultural understanding applied as behaviour, processes, policies and ethics for those changes to occur. This is critical.

This is about data, evidence and the insights of Survivors of rape, and other abuses, an insight that is all to often ignored or masked by the rage of the bystander community.

1. Abusive Behaviour emerges when populations or individuals (animal or human) are stressed, traumatised and exposed in particular to chronic stress and are unable to resolve it, resolve the situation within which they find themselves, and this occurs most often in hierarchical systems:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4UMyTnlaMY

2. Studies of older cultures reveal that there IS a spectrum of behaviour from abusive to empathic, and that the primary predictor of abuse emerging in any given culture is the degree to which the natural child mother bonding processes are disrupted, stressed...

http://www.violence.de/prescott/bulletin/article.html

http://www.violence.de/.../Profiles_Peaceful_v_Violent.pdf

3. These studies of pre-conquest peoples reveal part of the reason for that empathic state is partly sensory experience : towhit the existence of a sensory acuity or liminal awareness / liminal consciousness as a key element of an operational experiential reality in interactions between people within a healthy optimally functioning societal social system.

4. Recent studies on the consciousness of babies reveals a similar potential, and recognises that it requires appropriate nurturing behaviour from it’s caring community to fully deveop,

http://www.eheart.com/cesarean/babies.html

http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn23401-emerging-consciousness-glimpsed-in-babies.html#.UpTQ4ydoJAk

5. Recent research over the past 40 years into child development, including brain development, bio-chemistry of hormones, how the immune system works or no, all point to a biological mandate towards empathy, connection, intelligent co-operation as expressions of optimum biological health.

What is Natural?

Every creature. eats, shits, and dies. and in all three processes materials are passed on to nurture more life for all life. That is nature.

Mome creatures when abused or stressed abuse or stress others. That's natural.

Most creatures, when treated well, will not do this. That's natural.

Some people think Dominant Industrial Culture is superior to nature. That's un-natural.

Some people think the costs born by those who are bombed, whose lands are degraded, whose cultures are made extinct are 'worth it'. That's un-natural.

Some people know that the Dominant Industrial Culture is toxic. That's natural.

Some people ignore that fact, due to conditioned self alienation, insecurity and adverse psychology. That's natural.

The Dominant Industrial Culture cannot metabolise it's effluents. That is un-natural.

The effluents of all other living process can be metabolised by natural processes. That's natural.

We have the choice to metabolise the adverse affects of our experience and conditioning and to make compost of those that nurtures life from the outputs. Or not.

The Israeli Election is done. Now the formation of a majority block Government begins. Two weeks they say. And who has been talking of peace or justice? What have they said? And who amongst them will talk of peace, And who has been talking of more war? And who amongst these elected Israelis, now with the responsibility of Governance as an occupying military power in their hands, will speak of seeking peace and abandoning violence, physical or economic. As a first step. Unclench the fist, and remove the glove. Who?

And absent from anything i have read, is comment upon the reality that after a trauma, any threats the assailant makes publicly is by Law, and offence, classified as an assault. It also hurts....

Imagine what it’s like for a child who has seen his family die in the most bloody way, to hear the persons responsible for that horror making threats to launch another war, or to speak of unending war?

What is that like?

That child could be Israeli or Palestinian or American or Congolese, take a pick at any ‘conflict’, there are many.

Seen from this perspective, birth into this way of life, on Earth, is a grotesque lottery, devised by the hands of power, uncaring of the harm. Sure there are risk inherent in nature. But this?

THIS!?

So many children!

How is THIS in any way acceptable?

These are the questions we must ask as people and demand that answers, both our own conclusions and those of established ‘experts’ be openly sought, facts faced and appropriate decisions made.

With the disgusting and ignoble rhetoric of war ringing around the world, with foreseeable disasters looming as possibility's, ones we could better turn our energies so as to prepare, and mitigate the foreseeable, as derived from climate variation, mass poverty as capitalism falters, as war continues and other factors I won't go into here,(the reader will collate their own list) it behoves us all to stop the war as a priority.

One way or another, the subject must become THE SUBJECT that politicians, makers of weapons and war supplies, soldiers, citizens and children focus on.

protest. strike. blockade. write. inform. talk to the children. no-one has to become part of the system. it cannot be imposed. alternatives will emerge.

i write about this because of what I know to be true. It is deeper than any belief.

Because of the children.

All real children have prior rights in that they did not ask to join this culture, and cannot be subject to it's imposed ideologies without undermining their human rights, this in both a legal and a more general sense.

Those rights are the responsibility of the adult world in it’s entirety.

That responsibility is not so heavy that mankind has been struggling with it eternally. That would not be a great survival strategy in the long run, as we are beginning to understand. Ahem! (cough, cough!)

Until quite recently, about 16,000 years ago as far as we can tell. Not long in the long line of ancestry really. And always, always organised war directed by hierarchical societies has been at the heart of it all. The motive : Profit by brute force.

‘Progress’ was and remains a metaphor for more land, and more land implied controlling other lands, others bodies, be they whatever species……as resources to exploit.

Happiness in a consumer culture?

Truthfully, the ‘happiness’ quotient of those closest to the land, where pressures from the consumer based industrial world are non-existent, minimal or ignored, is the highest and broadest of all living human societies. That matters! That really, really matters. Think about this. Pause.

This way of living as a natural humane being has real meaning, value, content and depth. It is neither a fashion statement nor is it a currency. It’s no utopia. Shit happens.

Nonetheless.

Two streams of behaviour. Different consequences.

One cares for children. The other ‘rears’ children.

One turns anger into ritual.

The other drops missiles on them from seven thousand miles away. Or thirty. Or shells the child from one hundred yards away. Bulldozes house with dead people inside, your dead brothers, your dead parents and grandparents.

One would never make that threat.

The other repeats both threat and trauma.

A cyclic pattern.

This happens.
This is war, carried out by ‘states’, stimulated by ‘empires’.

Does it really have to be this way?

Of course not! Feel that pulse of nature, and the child at play, the family laughing. That’s real.

Doubt not that for once thousandth of a second.

Imagine again, sense this, feel what it would be like for that child at the harsh end of a missile.

Wherever that child is.

Imagine now, slowly, taking time to sense again how you felt gazing upon the most beautiful natural sight you have ever seen. The most moving. Then imagine playing as a child in nature, in that vision, or as it comes, as you might have as a child. Learning by exploring. By experience. By joy!

BANG!

A missile, the components of which may well have been made in 25 different countries, assembled in one country, shipped to the battle front, used once, lands in a child’s bedroom.

So when the politician said read my lips, no more taxes and did the opposite, when they say they want peace and make war and work to increase the possibility of more ‘efficient’ war, when they say they care for our health and refuse to regulate tens of thousands of synthetic toxic chemicals that are currently in common use, which are absolutely a leading cause of much distress, common and evolving, in or civilisation and outside it, as the toxicity takes hold, when this and more, with so many lies, there comes a point. There has to. Enough!

“It’s the children stupid!”

It’s (certainly not) the (military consumer products services industry) economy (interests and natural market) stupid!

What do you think? What are your thoughts on this?

Is World Peace possible?

Yes!

Of course peace is possible, for the entire family of humanity, and all the other living creatures on Earth.

All children are inherently, innately peaceful, intelligent (in different ways), creative and beautiful.

The starting point for peace is the childs experiences as he or she grows.

Alice Millers work "The Roots of Violence : For Your Own Good" demonstrates clearly, with plenty of evidence, that the childs upbringing is the predominant factor in determining whether or not he or she is compassionate, empathetic and self-reliant or wether her or she becomes fearful, a bully or a basically angry person, or an out of contro psychopath.

Irrespective of religion, philosophy or any other factor, a child who is listened to and respected becomes and adult who listens to others and respects others.

A child who is treated with gentleness and encouragement will grow into an adult who treats others in a similar fashion.

It is not a question of discipline or chastisement, it is not a question of, as some hold, mastering the child, controlling him or her or a matter of indoctrination.

When children are seen, as some marketeers see them, as 'evolving consumers' or as Governments see them, a work force in the making or as potential soldiers for their armies, or as easy converts to religions or ideologies the children are being used for adults purposes, and thus moulded, coerced into boxes that are not innate, those children become constructs of society, rather than natural individuals who truely know who they are, who live life with vitality, integrity and authenticity.

John Taylor Gatto has written about the way the project to craft "Compulsory State Education" was driven to achieve this. Here is a quote that is chilling in its content, and the context is that of creating a class of people who will do what they are told to do, irrespective of the psychic cost to themselves.

Between 1896 and 1920, a small group of industrialists and financiers, together with their private charitable foundations, subsidized university chairs, university researchers, and school administrators, spent more money on forced schooling than the government itself did. Carnegie and Rockefeller, as late as 1915, were spending more themselves. In this laissez-faire fashion a system of modern schooling was constructed without public participation. The motives for this are undoubtedly mixed, but it will be useful for you to hear a few excerpts from the first mission statement of Rockefeller’s General Education Board as they occur in a document called Occasional Letter Number One (1906):

"In our dreams...people yield themselves with perfect docility to our molding hands. The present educational conventions [intellectual and character education] fade from our minds, and unhampered by tradition we work our own good will upon a grateful and responsive folk. We shall not try to make these people or any of their children into philosophers or men of learning or men of science. We have not to raise up from among them authors, educators, poets or men of letters. We shall not search for embryo great artists, painters, musicians, nor lawyers, doctors, preachers, politicians, statesmen, of whom we have ample supply. The task we set before ourselves is very simple...we will organize children...and teach them to do in a perfect way the things their fathers and mothers are doing in an imperfect way."

And the things to be done in a pefect way? Working in factories, bureaucracies, corporations and in armies. And to what greater purpose? Why to control the worlds wealth and to craft what these indusrialists called a 'perfectly ordered society'.

We must face the fact that as a culture, the leaders of the industrial World, and others, are have been and still are using our chidren for their own purposes, and in doing so, they denature and warp the children. This is the greatest of taboos, and must be broken.

Hitler could not have done what he did without the support of money, and also many hundreds of thousands of angry people, ordinary people, looking for scapegoats for their unresolved psychic woundings.

George Bush and Tony Blair could not have launched wars that have killed 1.2 million people, 1/3rd of whom are, were children under the age of 15 without our compliance, our indifference, our deficit in empathy, our timidity and obedience.

Those qualities are not innate, they are learned and are the product, if not the intent of the conditioning process I have described.

Luckily the system of conditioning is not perfect, and many children do manage to slip through the net, partly due to parents who are able to give them the space to be authentic, partly because some people are less able to submit to being conditioned.

There are many, many healthy, empathetic and compassionate people. And there are the many who have not had the chance to grow that way. Healing is possible.

The future depends upon how we treat our children. Upon whether we listen to them or condition them.

And that is something we CAN change.

The Core Crime upon which all others are founded...

The core crime against life is the indoctrination of children. The cure? Listening to children. Children know and will tell any adult preparde to truely listen, open hearted and open mindedly.

By listening, we adults who as children were not heard, and who have resigned ourselves to this in order to survive, can heal our own childhoods and gain insight to the unique natural individual that we, each of us, are.

And in doing so, only then do we realise why we must not harm another, not because it's a question of 'right' ot 'wrong', more because we sense the pain in our own being of that harm, and would never, ever knowingly inflict that upon any other. And should we unwittingly cause harm, then we would move to cease that as soon as we were made aware of it.

This is the innate childs sensitivity, and we are naturally adapted to live with such a sensitivity, for in that sensing we can interact and relate to the world as it really is as opposed to the world interpreted and constructed by faith, ideology or other paradigm.

This sensitivity is a form of intelligence that those who seek power over others fear the most.

As I read through it I found myself makings these following comments - they are in italics.

This is what I think.

What do you think? Lets be honest here.

Human rights 'apply to UK troops'

(bbc headline!)

Human rights laws can be applied to British troops even in combat, a High Court judge has ruled
.
Duh!

The landmark judgement came in a test case relating to the death of Scottish soldier Pte Jason Smith in Iraq.

Mr Justice Collins said sending soldiers into action without proper kit could breach human rights. Ministers are appealing against the ruling.

What about the human rights of those caught in the crossfire?

What kind of kit would the court estimate would be 'poper' for a woman with three children, and two grandparents caught in the crossfire?

Whose responsibility is it to provide that kit?

The court also ruled families of those killed in conflict should get legal aid and access to military documents.

Ditto…

The judgement came during a request for military inquest guidelines in the case of Pte Smith, 32, from Hawick, in the Scottish Borders, who died of heatstroke in Iraq in 2003.

Legal defeat

Moral Victory?

Phyrric Victory!

Lawyers for the Ministry of Defence (MoD) had argued it was impossible to give soldiers in combat situations the benefits of the Human Rights Act.

But Mr Justice Collins said that although a duty of care could not be expected in combat, troops did not lose all protection.

So give them proper kit? Still getting shot at! And shooting back! Still murder! Still illegal!

It's an illegal war of aggression!

m8!

For example, sending a soldier out on patrol with defective equipment might be a breach of Article 2 of the Human Rights Act - the right to life, which in the event of death requires an independent inquiry.

Many believe the judgement will make it easier for the families of those injured or killed in Iraq and Afghanistan to claim for compensation.

Is it really that hard?

The decision was a legal defeat for Defence Secretary Des Browne who also had his attempt to ban coroners from using critical phrases such as "serious failure" rejected.

It is! You would sell your mothers soul for whateva!

Jocelyn Cockburn, the solicitor for Pte Smith's family, said the ruling meant British soldiers sent abroad would "have the same human rights as any other British citizens and must be properly equipped when sent into battle".

Hmmmmmmmm …. aren't human rights applicable to ALL nationalities, equally and without favour?

Duh!

Hello?

Catherine Smith, Pte Smith's mother, welcomed the decision and said she hoped other families would now not have to struggle in the same way she did to find out how their loved ones died.

"It was questions upon questions that we couldn't get - we couldn't get any information at all. And I think that's wrong. We should've had disclosure."

She's right, of course. And braver , so much more committed to just cause than many in parliament, in that she seeks to face down the Government and the MOD! She is their equal in every way. Each of us is.

'Common sense'

Diane Dernie, the mother of L/Bombadier Ben Parkinson, from Yorkshire, who was injured in an explosion in Afghanistan last year, told the BBC the decision was "absolute common sense".

Soldiers Human Rights -Tragic Oxymoron!

Liberty director Shami Chakrabarti said it was now clear it was "not just the military covenant that protects our forces all over the world".

"Their fundamental right to dignity and fair treatment must be safeguarded as well."

As well as what, might I ask?

Their right to murder people?

Their right to follow illegal orders?

Their right to NOT follow illegal orders?

... or is that a duty, under the Law?

But shadow(y) defence(sive) secretary Liam Fox said it should not have taken a court decision for ministers to realise they had "a responsibility and a moral obligation" to ensure troops were the "best trained and best equipped in the world".

Human Rights? 'Best' trained killers? 'Best' weapons of mass destruction? This is insane!

Liberal Democrat defence spokesman Nick Harvey described the ruling as a "shattering ruling for Des Browne" and said he hoped it would "wake the government up" to equipment shortages.
HAVE YOUR SAY

I must be at the wrong meeting!

The government has a moral obligation to equip those it sends into battle on our behalf properly
Matt Hennessy, London Send us your comments

Those in government, being of able body, and unmarried have a moral obligation to equip themselves appropriately and go fight the fuckin' wars themselves.

However, Mr Browne told the BBC his department had come "a long way" in response to "the changing environment both in Iraq and Afghanistan" regarding equipment.

So That's all right then! You guys are on it! Yay! LMAO!

"So this is criticism which is dated criticism from a different time. It is not applicable to the troops that are presently deployed."

Well that's nice to hear! Although ithe courts decision is a precedent! Well, OK then, possibly….

He confirmed the MoD would be appealing against the ruling that sending British soldiers into battle with defective equipment could breach human rights.

You What? Appeal? Didn't you hear the man? You really want to send young men to me maimed, traumatised, even to their deaths, men you have asked to do your dirty work for you?

You Absolute Tosser! And all who like you see fit to use legal instruments applied to mitigate murder, as opposed to banning it outright. Ist that it?

On the judge's rejection of the government's bid to stop coroners using critical language, the MoD said it had never attempted to prevent coroners from "undertaking independent investigations and making their findings public".

You quibble over wording when peoples lives are destroyed by decision that you make and their consequences.

Damn! I got taken in again, for a moment I had lost the sight of all the civilians who are the majority of casualties, across all three spectra - psychological trauma, maiming, death not to mention the collapse of society, for a moment I was really only concerned about the soldiers human rights.

Just stop the bloody war and start to make reparations, dude! It's our money. We WANT YOU TO DO THIS!

Stop the war.

....and... geuss what?

Brownie Boy

....... is NOT

..... really

..... listening!

So hit him, and all the civilian and corporate war makers where it hurts - in the pocket, to do this we need to build communities everywhere, that is talk to each other and break the spell of the denial- we all need to learn to grow food, and start to withold our taxes that we who do pay taxes, pay to central government.....and this is legaly sound and cannot be prosecuted under any law because it is merely upholding the Law, both National and International..it is do-able..... and if done....... then very soon after it will bring the wars to a close.

Then it won't matter if they don't listen. They will stand trial.

People must be mature ebough to accept the responsibility of taking any and all possible legal action that leads to stopping thes wars dead in their tracks.

Be the Law!

It's about all humans rightful expectation that peace should prevail, that greed be curbed and that wars shoudl stop. Now. Just say No!

The Function of Education : why we failed to stop the English Government prosecuting the Iraq War

As I edit this in England in 2021 and I observe head teachers and teachers willingly exposing the children in their care to a dangerous pathogen, after 20 months of pandemic, with no end in sight, with layers of command responsibility and culpability going all the way up to Parliament as a whole body, and the Government and 'Opposition' within it, all of them educated in their own time by the compulsion methodology and ideology, this rather badly typed (in the original form, when I was still dealing with serious issues within myself, or rather barely coping to be more honest) short piece is germaine.

"free yourself from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our minds" ~ Bob Marley

"Education! Education! Education!" ~ Tony Blair

Why was it that millions upon millions of English people were unable to stop a few thousand English Ruling Class from initiating and persecuting an amoral, illegal war?

I think it all boils down the the function of Compulsory State Education.

Below is an excerpt from an article that explores what is most likely the hidden agenda of Compulsory (note that word) State Education (no child left behind) - its utility as a political inhibitor, designed to thwart emergent democratic organisation that might dislodge the established power groups from their dominating positions.

Compulsory - coerced education - is not what we are led to believe...

"The odd fact of a Prussian provenance for our schools pops up again and again once you know to look for it.

William James alluded to it many times at the turn of the century. Orestes Brownson, the hero of Christopher Lasch’s 1991 book, The True and Only Heaven, was publicly denouncing the Prussianization of American schools back in the 1840s. Horace Mann’s "Seventh Annual Report" to the Massachusetts State Board of Education in 1843 is essentially a paean to the land of Frederick the Great and a call for its schooling to be brought here.

That Prussian culture loomed large in America is hardly surprising, given our early association with that utopian state. A Prussian served as Washington’s aide during the Revolutionary War, and so many German-speaking people had settled here by 1795 that Congress considered publishing a German-language edition of the federal laws.

But what shocks is that we should so eagerly have adopted one of the very worst aspects of Prussian culture: an educational system deliberately designed to produce mediocre intellects, to hamstring the inner life, to deny students appreciable leadership skills, and to ensure docile and incomplete citizens in order to render the populace "manageable."

It was from James Bryant Conant-president of Harvard for twenty years, WWI poison-gas specialist, WWII executive on the atomic-bomb project, high commissioner of the American zone in Germany after WWII, and truly one of the most influential figures of the twentieth century-that I first got wind of the real purposes of American schooling.

Without Conant, we would probably not have the same style and degree of standardized testing that we enjoy today, nor would we be blessed with gargantuan high schools that warehouse 2,000 to 4,000 students at a time, like the famous Columbine High in Littleton, Colorado.

Shortly after I retired from teaching I picked up Conant’s 1959 book-length essay, The Child the Parent and the State, and was more than a little intrigued to see him mention in passing that the modem schools we attend were the result of a "revolution" engineered between 1905 and 1930.

A revolution? He declines to elaborate, but he does direct the curious and the uninformed to Alexander Inglis’s 1918 book, Principles of Secondary Education, in which "one saw this revolution through the eyes of a revolutionary."

Inglis, for whom a lecture in education at Harvard is named, makes it perfectly clear that compulsory schooling on this continent was intended to be just what it had been for Prussia in the 1820s: a fifth column into the burgeoning democratic movement that threatened to give the peasants and the proletarians a voice at the bargaining table. Modern, industrialized, compulsory schooling was to make a sort of surgical incision into the prospective unity of these underclasses.

Divide children by subject, by age-grading, by constant rankings on tests, and by many other more subtle means, and it was unlikely that the ignorant mass of mankind, separated in childhood, would ever re-integrate into a dangerous whole. Inglis breaks down the purpose - the actual purpose - of modem schooling into six basic functions, any one of which is enough to curl the hair of those innocent enough to believe the three traditional goals listed earlier:

  1) The adjustive or adaptive function. Schools are to establish fixed habits of reaction to authority. This, of course, precludes critical judgment completely. It also pretty much destroys the idea that useful or interesting material should be taught, because you can’t test for reflexive obedience until you know whether you can make kids learn, and do, foolish and boring things.

2) The integrating function. This might well be called "the conformity function," because its intention is to make children as alike as possible. People who conform are predictable, and this is of great use to those who wish to harness and manipulate a large labor force.

  3) The diagnostic and directive function. School is meant to determine each student’s proper social role. This is done by logging evidence mathematically and anecdotally on cumulative records. As in "your permanent record." Yes, you do have one.

  4) The differentiating function. Once their social role has been "diagnosed," children are to be sorted by role and trained only so far as their destination in the social machine merits - and not one step further. So much for making kids their personal best.

  5) The selective function. This refers not to human choice at all but to Darwin’s theory of natural selection as applied to what he called "the favored races." In short, the idea is to help things along by consciously attempting to improve the breeding stock. Schools are meant to tag the unfit - with poor grades, remedial placement, and other punishments - clearly enough that their peers will accept them as inferior and effectively bar them from the reproductive sweepstakes. That’s what all those little humiliations from first grade onward were intended to do: wash the dirt down the drain.

  6) The propaedeutic function. The societal system implied by these rules will require an elite group of caretakers. To that end, a small fraction of the kids will quietly be taught how to manage this continuing project, how to watch over and control a population deliberately dumbed down and declawed in order that government might proceed unchallenged and corporations might never want for obedient labor.

That, unfortunately, is the purpose of mandatory public education in this country.

And lest you take Inglis for an isolated crank with a rather too cynical take on the educational enterprise, you should know that he was hardly alone in championing these ideas. Conant himself, building on the ideas of Horace Mann and others, campaigned tirelessly for an American school system designed along the same lines.

Men like George Peabody, who funded the cause of mandatory schooling throughout the South, surely understood that the Prussian system was useful in creating not only a harmless electorate and a servile labor force but also a virtual herd of mindless consumers.

In time a great number of industrial titans came to recognize the enormous profits to be had by cultivating and tending just such a herd via public education, among them Andrew Carnegie and John D. Rockefeller. "

These words were written by John Taylor Gatto. They are accurate. They describe a fundamental reality that exists underneath and in spite of the many reforms in education, year after year,

Now you know why 30 million adults cannot stop a few thousand launching a war.

Question is what can we do about it?

Kindest regards

Corneilius

Free Will and Indoctrination

Free Will and Indoctrination

Two concepts at odds with each other. One much vaunted, by those who gloat over their ability to control others whom they indoctrinate, above all else. The other seen, rightfully so, as a threat by those who value their integrity as humane beings.

Children sense that threat, though being small and vulnerable, they must acquiesce, in order to survive. It is unfortunate for so many that they forget this acquiescence.

Those that organise the indoctrination of others rely upon that forgetting for the only source of their power, and thus those who recall the resignation of their acquiescence, and recover their free will, are the ones who will no longer comply with those who indoctrinate.

As it is with taxation, under current circumstances, so terribly demonstrated in Iraq and Afghanistan. So many horrors, daily fare for those we have abandoned. Can you imagine the pain, the terror, the wounds those people must live with?

As it ever has been, since the city states first formed and centralised governance based upon might, a governance that feeds upon the forced labours of people, that exercises the supreme ’right’ to kill, to imprison, to torture and to bomb, and so darkened the lives of human beings, and of natural creation

The tide must turn.

Will you turn it? Will you be of the rocks, the beaches, the cliffs that repel that tide, so that your children, and theirs, may walk freely upon this Earth? Will you recover your free will? Will you reclaim your soul? Will you refuse to comply with the indoctrinated systems of fear and retribution, the powers of the wrathful state, the folly of the consumer capitalist dance of death?

For that is the first step in the rebellion that must take place if we are to truly honour the miracle of our children. Parents who have reclaimed their souls, who have seen the truth of the indoctrination will know at their very core the base crime it is to indoctrinate, and will not do so.

A generation of children allowed to grow naturally, to express their true identity, to read with their own innate intelligence, the world around them, will naturally resolve the issues we are all faced with.

They will also inspire their parents in ways that their parents, and their wider community and extended family cannot but be grateful for.

The real battle is won internally, without recourse to violent confrontation, in the reclaiming of our free will, our very soul, our ability to love unconditionally. This battle is the one those that seek to control us fear the most. That is why the weapons of mass distraction are so sophisticated, so relentless.

That is why the internet is feared, that is why there are attempts to enclose the web, to integrate censorship, to flood it with banal distraction and pornography, as it is where free will may reign, it is where conversations may take place that can assist in the internal battle, for we soul seekers in the west are beginning to realise that we are not alone, we are not isolated and that we are not mad.

As we reclaim our souls, as we release ourselves from the bondage, from the mental slavery, from the fear, as we reach nirvana, as we assume our birthright of enlightenment, we will then have the sweet question of what to do with that free will.

The further work will be strenuous, will tax us to our limits at times and yet is underpinned by the true essence of nature, our own nature, the very spirit of life. It is not to be taken too lightly, though it must be taken with delight. It is a work that is a mirror of natures amazing ability to feed and nurture all living beings that exist.

One must be happy to assume this work. Proud, determined, convinced and at ease with the role we must, each of us, play. Each of us the saviour. If we so chose.

Free will.
