Compulsory State Education exposed ........

The fundamentals of State Control and the true agenda of Compulsory State Education (schooling) are revealed by the following quotations

Charles Pierce, the eminence grise behind William James and John Dewey, architects of Compulsory State Education in the USA wrote :

“Let the will of the state act, then, instead of the will of the individual. Let an institution be created which shall have for its object to keep correct doctrines before the attention of the people, to reiterate them perpetually, and to teach them to the young, having at the same time power to prevent contrary doctrines from being taught, advocated or expressed.

Let all possible cause of a change of mind be removed from men’s apprehension. Let them be kept ignorant, lest they should learn of some reason to think otherwise than they do. Let their passions be enlisted, so that they may regard … unusual opinions with hatred and horror. Then, let all men who reject the established belief be terrified into silence….

Let a list of opinions be drawn up to which no man of the least independence of thought can assent, and let the faithful be required to accept all these propositions in order to segregate them as radically as possible from the influence of the rest of the world.”

Woodrow Wilson speaking to an audience of businessmen in New York City in 1909 :

“We want one class to have a liberal education. We want another class, a very much larger class, to forgo the privilege of a liberal education and fit themselves to perform specific difficult manual tasks.”

This is the technology of modern management ……this is the doctrine which drove William James in “Principles of Psychology” (1890), to assign habit-training, not intellectual development, the place of honour in schooling :

“Habit is the enormous fly-wheel of society, it’s most precious conservative agent. It alone is what … saves the children of fortune from the envious uprisings of the poor … it alone prevents the hardest and most repulsive (jobs) from being deserted. It holds the miner in his darkness. It keeps different strata of society from mixing.”

All of us who attended state schooling have been exposed to and conditioned to accept the imposed and limited ideas that are taught through that education, reinforced through the media and that underpin the success of marketing.

This is the core technology of psychological state control upon which the likes of Tony Blair, David Cameron and the leaders of Indusrty et al depend upon.

Of course they retain that other oh-so familiar stick, that of poverty, physical violence or imprisonment to curtail those few who escape this conditioning. That’s what the War Against Terror and the consistent attack on civil liberties is all about.

Reminding you and I that ‘we are either with us or against us”. And that there are penalties for non-compliance. You will be excluded!

With thanks to John Taylor Gatto, in whose most recent book, "Weapons of Mass Instruction", I found these and other quotes and resources.

Gattos book, "An Underground History of American Education" is published on-line at his website. In it he researched the international project to establish Compulsory State Education, from it's roots in the beginnings of the Industrial Revolution to the 21st Century.

Right or wrong, what works, works!

The factual recent history of Palestine is clear.

Utilising standards current in International Law, the Israeli Government is the aggressor, the US/UK Governments their supporters, the Palestinian and Israeli civilians are the victims, and the UN and the rest of us appalled and somewhat confused bystanders. Let me help clear some of the confusion. This situation has little to do with Religion, and a lot more to do with colonialism, conquest, Empire.

The Palestinians are 'guilty' of violent resistance. A somewhat lessor crime perhaps, though current International Law allows for armed resistance to military occupation by foreign powers, from invasion right through to departure. Thus guilt is the wrong word, even though I detest violence, the intentional causation of harm to anyone.

This aggression we are talking about is the aggression that is driven by power politics, often using religion or race as a 'white phosphorous" smoke screen.

Power politics is essentially about adverse control over the lives of others considered 'inferior' by those exercising that power - the power of life and death, full dining, charidee or scraps.

One can say that those who make the decisions to exercise that power in that any harmful way are culpable for they have transgressed the natural state of welfare and it is correct action, on the part of a mature adult, to confront that head-on...

We know that by conditioning children, such governments condemn those children as parents to become the instruments of that conditioning, innocently harming their own beloved children.

It is correct action, on the part of a mature adult, to confront that head-on. That means making accurate assessments - not to be confused with 'judging' which in common use means to see the other as inferior. To assess means to call the behaviour what it is, distinguishing that from the person.

A person thus confronted who denies and/or shows no remorse has judged themselves in the eyes of those who confront adverse dysfunctional behaviour.

Within the so called mainstream Peace and Environment movements there is far too much proto-Christian/hippy-psychoblather about the 'ego' and 'judgement', way too much political correctness, essentially an unwillingness to call it for what it is.

If you feel it, then you feel it, so say it... Otherwise it's fear!

If only right and wrong was so easy to see…. If only........

Many people express this sentiment. Here's my take on it, for what it is worth.

Take the side of the civilians on all sides, and oppose the military power on all sides.

But as to the question right and wrong, in Gaza, right now for example, it is the right to life that is being violated and in that the Israeli Government is behaving in a way that is clearly anti-life, and doing so in a well organised, mechanised, industrialised way.

Their propaganda machine is well served by our western media and by a lack of critical thinking and feeble sentimentality.

Have you seen or read any of the work by Derrick Jensen? He is right on the ball with this void of critical analysis. Worth a watch.

Here's a quote, in which he debunks survival of the fittest, elegantly and precisely - I suggest you read it out loud :

"Those creatures that have survived in the long run have survived in the long run; you don’t survive in the long run by exploiting your habitat; you survive in the long run by actually improving your habitat; that’s what salmon do, that’s what merganzers do, that’s what bears do, that’s what everybody does; except us."

Thus, my question is this : what exactly have the Israeli Government done to improve the habitat of the Palestinians?

  Precision Munitions

And another aspect of this connection to habitat is that we do have an innate and precise sensory ability that allows us, if we chose to use it, to listen to and comprehend all the elements in nature, from clouds to oceans, from mountains to clay.

Our hearts are neurally set-up to receive and transmit electromagnetic communications. All living beings emit electromagnetic information. These are signature transmissions. This has been scientifically measured. We are talking KNOWLEDGE here. Fact.

The ancients all claimed that their plant knowledge and herbal lore came direct from the plants themselves. We laughed at them, patronised them, slaughtered them and took their lands.

We know that in swarms of bats, that their ability to fly in huge swarms, at high speed, comes from their rapid 'reactions' - each individual is acutely aware of the seven around him, and as they fly in formation,  their so-called 'reactions' are 14 times faster than the human brain can think.

They are using electromagnetic info to co-ordinate their efforts.

This happens in all swarms, flocks, shoals etc etc..

A mechanical instinct, driven by trial and error rather than direct comprehension is simply too blunt to craft this level of finesse. They think faster than we can!

In school, empire school, the one most of us went to, I was told that the ancients learned what they knew by trial and error! Profoundly arrogant and a fatal flaw in our ‘civilisation’. Fatal.

Precision - Natures Weapon of Mass Interaction

The point being that each living entity has within its being the facility to discern clearly what is appropriate for it's well being and what is not, to communicate with other life-forms and to thus adapt to a changing environment that is in dynamic equilibrium. And it is that that is at the core of the amazing diversity, vast co-operation and deep balance of nature.

And it’s abundance. This quality/ability is missing in Israeli/US/UK governance. By reducing things to mechanics in order to understand them in a laboratory one gains knowledge of a bit, only in the case of urban civilisation, to than lose contact with the whole being.

In order to justify that loss, in itself an act of incredible stupidity and a functionally fatal one at that, intellectual philosophers and religious leaders of the city civilisations who evolved using that 'scientific' methodology had to create a disconnect, and elevate them selves ABOVE nature. As did the Constantine, the first Imperial Pope
.
Nature does not do right and wrong, nature does what works and what works is co-operation. Everything in nature that is alive works. What does not work, dies. Every creature devotes a large slice of it's being to improving the environment it inhabits.

Apart from civilised humanity. And that does not work. Neither is the Israeli aggression on the Palestinian people ‘working’.

It is an insanity to suggest that either ever was, is, or might be working.

The Roots of Violence

Nice Video outlining the basics of Alice Millers understanding of how child rearing practices govern foreign policy.... I kid you not! Watch it and make the link yourself!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2uNfn_CtZw

And here's a fantastic short article covering the same ground, in a warm and touching, yet logically sound way.

http://knol.google.com/k/michael-pastore/the-mission-of-alice-miller/1g0dr1xj3zbds/4#

here's a part of it....

""Miller's argument, in The Truth Will Set You Free might be summarized as something like this:

1. Many adults manage their children with parenting and teaching methods which employ physical or emotional violence against the child.

2. Because of this violent treatment, the children grow up blind to the dangers of violent parenting, and out of touch with their true feelings and needs.

3. When these children grow to become teachers and parents, they will practice these same violent methods against their own children.

4. This cycle of "violence breeds more violence" can be broken, and abused adults can heal themselves and become nonviolent parents.

Miller begins by explaining, with many examples, how and why childhood reality is avoided "in six fields where we should expect precisely the opposite: medicine, psychotherapy, politics, the penal system, religion, and biography." ... Miller's next section, ‘How We Are Struck Emotionally Blind', offers an explanation for the remarkable and often-repeated story: "A father will beat his son and humiliate him with sarcastic remarks but not have any memory whatever of having been similarly humiliated by his own father.' ... In the third part of the book, Miller offers examples of courageous adults who have healed themselves despite long histories of parental abuse."

From a man who knows War.....

Chris Hedges has spent 20 years covering wars.

In these video segments he describes the reality of war, noting the three types as civil wars, 'conventional' wars of army to army and militarised occupations by a foreign force.

He speaks to the reality of the casualties of war, (civilians, women and children predominate) and why the toll is so high in Iraq and Gaza and else where.

Eloquent, passionate without losing his centre, these ten minutes are worth watching to get an idea of the reality in Gaza, Iraq, Afghanistan and where ever occupations occur.

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=cL3ToWgtfDA - short introduction,

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=221047753114925234&hl=en - full lecture with questions

This kind of clarity helps cut through the propaganda, spin and outright lies which are disseminated via the mainstream media.

Hedges also makes the distinction between ‘killing’ and ‘murder’. Killing involves two armed sides hostile to one another.

Murder involves those who are armed versus those who unarmed, who pose no threat and who are simply I’n the way‘. Collateral Damage… is the euphemism now well worn and tattered.

Recently, currently in Gaza, we are being allowed to see the pictures of the carnage .... via the internet, youtube etc we are being allowed to sense the chaos and terror that missiles and automatic fire from an industrialised war machine inflict upon a civilian, urban area.

That same horror has been common place all over Iraq since March 2003. And the death toll is 1.2 million needless violent deaths amongst Iraqis, not to mention the woundings and trauma.

And who will help the Iraqis heal these wounds? Who speaks of this today? Why the silence?

How will this horror manifest in the following generations, in the psychology of the children of the traumatised and maimed Iraqis, Gazans, Afghans if there is no real resolution, no healing?

All of us have to think beyond the arguments of those who espouse violence, irrespective of their 'case' (' freedom fighters' et al) and argue the case for an outright ban by civilian populations on funding and industry for war or a military of any kind........ upto the right to hold national strikes to force this upon the political and corporate worlds - by right of the obligation and real need to defend civilians world wide from the degradation of war.

Shopping, War and Santa..........

I am encouraged when hearing how many people are learning in their own lives the lost art of listening to children, and how again and again we discover that innate intelligence is the norm, the natural state.

This culture is merely a measure of how far from that state we been pushed,  manipulated, led, or indeed beaten and have adjusted to simply because there is no other option, bar violence - and we know violence does not bring peace - so we quite sensibly avoid it.. As ordinary folk we have no comparative power with which we can change the culture, unless we are fully in solidarity with one another, as human beings, as people.

I understand the entities we know as the state, the church, the bank, the military and many other institutions that wield power over peoples large scaled up dysfunctional families with angry, violent and abusive parents who try to hide the truth and keep up the appearances of ‘normality’ and a captive population that falls into the roles of children trapped in that family.

I have found that correlation can help to explore than then articulate an understanding that the macro psychology is built upon the micro psychology, it's the same behaviours scaled up to institutional levels..

Fractals of conditioned behaviours, ripples on the surface, currents in the deep.

The Hierarchy of this 'culture' is constantly re-adapting it's presentation in the face of repeated liberation of perception.

The controllers of that adaptation and the institutions they utilise are populated by people and structural entities who have been trained to work in the creation of what becomes the cultural narrative.

No-one is outside the systems reach.

That's the idea, at any rate. Education and Marketing in combination ensure that the psychological messages being are being tested, and as they refine the content more are are taken up,

Wearing obe down..

Breaking the spirit. As it ever was in the elite education methodologies, based as it was in their child-rearing practices from which it sprang.

"Give me the child until seven years have passed, and I will give you the man!"

The history of the documentation and dissemination of child rearing practices is also the history of Empire.

The first books of that nature, manuscripts written for the families of the elites, were the equivalent of military rules of engagement, for there was an enemy (the child’s natural sinful state), there was weaponry (corporal or other cruel punishment), there was a methodology (the subjugation of that spirit) and a goal : the victorious master would 'produce' a useful member of the Empire.

One who actively accepts the indoctrination and subsequent submission to authority.

Beyond that, from the viewpoint of those who set the state systems of education in place, the utility of education is minimal.

The variations that are allowed, so that the system looks like it is changing, simply enable the infra-structure of human occupy-able industrial relationships (jobs) to be built into and within the systems of bureaucracy, and control and by giving it the appearance of ‘work‘, by creating the concept of ‘career’, all of which follow on logically from school, and by then applying that to the most ludicrous of activities, (sanitation engineer = janitor!) with varying rewards upwards for more blind obedience, by doing this and more it is ensured that most people are hoodwinked and taken in by it.

Absorbed. Work is the problem. Shopping is designed to make too much hard or pointless work seem like it is worth it, by virtue alone of the money earned, and what proportion of that is 'disposable' .

By hyping the reward driven activity, (mortgages to buy house to make money) hiding the slavery, with ever shorter durations of that feeling of well-being that comes with shopping and consuming, before another 'hit' is required to mask again the un-ease the psyche feels in this occupational vice.

The roots of much addiction.

Shopping is responsible for 70% of human driven environmental degradation. Stop Shopping!

Wars are being fought over resources that are needed to keep the shopping going. Stop Shopping!

Shopping can be done with tomorrows resources too, which means we are already disposing of our children’s children’ s resources - a fatal and somewhat genocidal gluttony!

Rain forests are fast becoming human excrement, destroyed daily to enable a constant flow of burgers, animal feed and waste paper to be made in huge quantities so that every child can taste a Big Mac! Stop snacking on processed foods!

 It really is that simple.

We are losing connection with each other, with our children, our parents, our brothers and sisters, because our time is increasingly taken up with work and shopping (which includes consuming and waste disposal as well, just to complete the cycle!) It is that simple.

Any child will see that, clear as daylight itself. On a sunny day, of course.

There’s just so much to do, and so much being to experience…….

Grow your own food as much as you can.

Spend your living time awake to nature's gifting.

They duck when shoes are incoming! Stop bombing other peoples countries and cities and towns!

I hop you all have a nurturing time, and that you are nurtured...

Mumbai, Panic and Civil Liberties........

Reading the news stories about victims and abusers, writ large in society, writ in detail in families, schools, at work, at play and as cannon-fodder to this or that belief system, that ideology.

Mumbai, a case in point. Previous events like this have taken place in India, and many. Only they seemed to have almost exclusively occurred in areas where only the ultra-poor, the poor live, and a few occassions in places where workers and low middle class pass.

This is the first 'hit' on the rich sector of Indian Society.

A shock.

I have recently re-read "Shock Doctrine!" by Naomi Klein. Worth reading, as it makes clear the relationship between the economic ideology of neo-liberal trade, it's implementation and war in the 20th and 21st Centuries.

If this terrible murder spree was a shock, inflicted with intent, then what of that intent?

Exactly Who's intent?

Qui Bono?

Until we know exactly who sponsored this crime, by way of a clear and fully open investigation, with immediate effect, by the Hague International Criminal Tribunal, the kind of investigation the US Government so studiously avoided, mandated to arrest those responsible for the commissions of war crimes, such as sponsoring armed groups, armies and paramilitaries in wars of destabilisation in Sovereign Countries.

In the meantime check with democracy nows really insightful and frank exchange of views from people who have direct knowledge of India, many years of experience and a sound comprehension of what has taken place in Mumbai. Their explanations make more sense than anything the media has uttered.

The Keys

I went out this morning to get some keys cut. The keycutter and shoe repair kiosk is just outside the tube station. 200 yards from my front door.

Across a busy road. It was cold. I had forgot my hat. I walked quickly, and swept into the kiosk, to se mr. (smily )keymaker, who hails from Pakistan, was listening to a tallish, 50s Caucasian man of the street, holding forth with some heat.

Mr. "I stayed"( I will call him this throughout) " here in England throughout 3 recessions, and I still have my job. I've worked bloody hard for what I have." he said. I sat down.

Silence. I looked up and there he was.Facing me. Cloth cap.Short grey needing a cut wiry hair. Bottle eye glasses, black bomber jacket, Mr. Istayed appeared to be agitated. His face had the appearance of being somewhat 'scrunched'....

I turned and looked around to my right and I observed my neighbour, sat opposite me ,so that we three made a triangle in the front of the kiosk, Mr.Keymaker behind the counter. I smiled. My neighbour smiled back. A gentle nod of the head. Silence...

"AND when EVER it gets tough over there, they ALL come over here! When Pakistan was in trouble, they all came over here. When Iran was in trouble they all came over here. When Somalia was in trouble, with terrorists, they all came over here. Bloody coming over here and settling in and doing well. Why can't they do as I, and bloody stay there and work it through?! Not run off to a welfare country!"

A moments silence.

I couldn't help myself.

"Yet THAT's not necessarily the full story, is it?" I said. "Can I get these keys cut, please?" to Mr.Keymaker, smiling. I handed over the keys. Mr.Keyman hovered near his key machine in the recess. Whirring. Grinding. Sparks.

I turned to Istayed, and continued to share my opinion..I raised my voice above the din of new keys being cut.

"I mean to say, with regard to Sudan, for example : we know that the US facilitated the arming of the violent paramilitary 'rebels' by providing weapons, cash, training and other aid to the countries contingent. Eritrea, Rwanda, Ethiopia. Those Governments passed arms to 'militia' that 'opposed' the Democratic muslim moderate social development administration in place. Those movements of social development models for economies, environment etc etc were seen as a threat by US and UK BUsiness Corporations. And thats why the wars happen- because we want to sell weapons as a business, Private Enterpise."

Mr. Istayed looked a bit confused. Mr Keymaker knew exactly what I was saying. Smily neighbour continued to smile and indicated comprehension. After a short pause, Istayeds confusion turned to resolution, smile smiled and I was addressed thus :

"You KNOW what the real problem is, don't ya?!" said my new Friend, he of tenacious spirit and patriotic fervour. Apparently he had decided to act is if I had indeed stayed mute, and said nothing. It didn't happen. Typical behaviour of a gainfully if mindmongingly educated and now successfully 'employed person'.

Not a scrounger nor a complainer. Not he.

I said "Well, if you ask me, and you have, our society is.....-" Istayed chugged. He had the answer.

I looked to my sudden friend, and stood up to brace myself for the soon to be revealed glistening pearl of wisdom. It came.

"We haven't had a proper war in 60 years. What we need is a real world war!" Said with the passion of a CEO selling aspartame to children, bereft in elegance, eloquently blunt, unable to hide behind artifice, devoid of spin.

"We've had no war on these islands for a long time, yes you can say that.... and - at the same time there's been non stop war since WWII. The west and china and others have all been supporting violent non-Democratic regimes for political and for business purposes for ages. Everyone knows that!"

"Well, nothing like the carpet bombing of Vietnam. That's war. Nothing like that" Mr. Istayed huffed dismissively.

"IRAQ! For SURE THEY'VE BOMBED IRAQ!" I squealed almost in delight!

"Well they used cruise missiles, direct to their targets, very little collateral damage, precision bombs." this whilst making his hand spear the air like a .... rocket. He stayed. sigh!

"Well they haven't being carpet bombing in Iraq!" added Mr. Keymaker, helpfully. Moving the conversation along is a skill he has to use from time to time in his profession capacity.

"They've been using planes to bomb in Iraq since 1991..... that's absurd" I retorted. Assertive, and polite, of course.

"Oh it is true,my friend, I assure you it is true! No B52 Carpet bombing in Iraq. Gunships, fighters and missiles - no B52 Bombers at all! Afghanistan, yes! Iraq - no!" He uttered these words with a certainty that was all but convincing.....

The new keys slammed to the counter surface. "CLACK!!"

Mr. Keymaker then chimed in with what I felt was the most surreal comment yet.

"What we need .......... is the Atom Bomb, thats what stopped the wars!" he said.

"Blow up Baghdad. Blow up Tehran. Blow up Afghanistan. Atomic bombs! destroy them all and they will surrender! All over! No more war!" He enthused!

Mr. Istayed heartily agreed with this, his demeanour relaxing a bit, perhaps relieved a little to be part of a team, to sense the reinforcements again, and unfortunately Mr. Smiley smiled his indicative smile, also in apparent agreement. He might have been smiling ironically, drawing the best out of the situation, with the delicacy of a laughing Buddha.....

At this I contemplated throwing all caution to the wind. And all too soon, Mr. Istayed, noting my accent deriving from this my nationality/ethnic back ground, said "You know what the problem is with the Irish? You do. Don't you?!" Loudly delivered and for all to hear.

to which I responded quite quickly that I felt that

"The Irish are, as a nation, a community of traumatised people, survivors of a a trauma that lasted many years, and whose resolution lies deep in the memories to heal, a people who have not been allowed to heal the wound.. but hey! are allowed to shop!"

"Nah!" Snorted Mr Istayed. "It's alcohol....."

he pauses.

".....and religion! Two greatest problems the Irish have, m8!"

I laughed. What could I possibly say?

I offered to pay for the keys. "2 keys, £6.50!" - I handed over the money, pocketing the keys. Satisfied with the transaction. I had bought keys here before and they always worked straight up!"

Jokingly I chided my limpet Englishman, and said "Now mate, that's all just plain silly! You're just repeating what you've read in the Daily Mail, the media - that's all propaganda!"

"Surely everyone knows that the authority of government to cause so much suffering is not invested by anyone else than our good selves? Willingly compliant?" I huffed.

"Do YOU trust the authority of the state?" I enquired.

"Of course I do!" he said. " I'm living in it, I am part of it!"

I had a set of keys, yet not THE KEY. Frustration. I braced myself.

"I do not!" I said

and I hurriedly left the kiosk and left behind that unresolved, surreal and somehow callous conversation and returned to the cold November air. I felt welcome in the wind. The day was early yet!

The Ballad of John Taylor Gatto

NEW!

LIVE VIDEO OF CORNEILIUS! NEW! SHARE IT!

A live take of a set I did at the Conscious Cabaret in Brighton on 16th June 2008!

This one's about John Taylor Gattos expose of the hidden agenda of COMPULSORY STATE EDUCATION...

The chorus line is

"All children are intelligent,
All children are beautiful,
All children are creators this we know!"

Sing it with gusto!

Mark Hellewell shot the video, I did an edit or two and the good folk of Brighton provided the spiritual support! Bless!

Pass this on, if you please, along with the following :

Carnegie and Rockefeller, as late as 1915, were spending more themselves. In this laissez-faire fashion a system of modern schooling was constructed without public participation. The motives for this are undoubtedly mixed, but it will be useful for you to hear a few excerpts from the first mission statement of Rockefeller's General Education Board as they occur in a document called Occasional Letter Number One (1906):

In our dreams...people yield themselves with perfect docility to our molding hands. The present educational conventions [intellectual and character education] fade from our minds, and unhampered by tradition we work our own good will upon a grateful and responsive folk. We shall not try to make these people or any of their children into philosophers or men of learning or men of science. We have not to raise up from among them authors, educators, poets or men of letters. We shall not search for embryo great artists, painters, musicians, nor lawyers, doctors, preachers, politicians, statesmen, of whom we have ample supply. The task we set before ourselves is very simple...we will organize children...and teach them to do in a perfect way the things their fathers and mothers are doing in an imperfect way.

This mission statement will reward multiple rereadings.

Obama, Clinton and the excluision of Kuchinich or the rape of free speech in American Election 2008!

In January 2008, the network MSNBC scheduled a live presidential candidate debate for the top 4 democratic candidates. Clinton, Obama, Edwards and Kuchinich.

Kuchinich had qualified by being the 4th most popular candidate, - MSNBC drafted these qualification criteria themselves - ( Kuchinich was and remains the only democratic anti-war, anti military industrial complex, anti-privatisation of utilities, pro welfare state, pro green environment democratic presidential candidate with a consistent record of these policies who also called for impeachment of Bush, Cheny etc)

On January 9th, NBC told Kucinich he had met the criteria for the debate. Then, less than two days later, NBC changed the criteria and declared Kucinich no longer qualified. On Monday, a Nevada judge ordered NBC to include Kucinich, but then NBC appealed the ruling and actively fought to keep him off the stage. On Tuesday night, less than an hour before the debate, the Nevada Supreme Court sided with NBC.

In court filings, NBC painted itself as the victim. Attorneys for the network wrote, “Mr. Kucinich’s claim is nothing more than an illegitimate private cause of action designed to impose an equal access requirement that entirely undermines the wide journalistic freedoms enjoyed by news organizations under the First Amendment.” Attorneys for General Electric’s NBC also argued, “A television station does not have to grant unlimited access to a candidate debate. If anyone’s First Amendment rights are being infringed, they are MSNBC’s.”

In other words MSNBC and the Nevada Supreme court DID NOT DEFEND Kuchinichs right to speak freely,to the Americna electorate who were to view the debate live on TV, thus violating Victor Hugos maxim, ""I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."" and truely deflowered the supposed 'purity' of US Democracy and free speech, by legal coercion! Rape actually!

You often hear people say the troops are fighting to protect peoples right to dissent and are protecting free speech with their lives. This episode shows clearly that this is blatantly untrue.

Remember this every time you hear of someone dieing or being wounded in Iraq.

Amy Goodmans Democracynow.org did a wee mash-up of the debate the next day to include Kuchinich.

Kuchinich is pro environment, anti-war, pro impeach bush, cheney, anti-banks and corporates and globalsiation/privatisation and has been consistent in this approach since his first election at age 23! Streets ahead of Obama!

kuchinichs bio - http://kucinich.house.gov/Biography/

Here's the democracy now mash-up of the debate including Kuchinich - brilliant!

http://www.democracynow.org/2008/1/16/breaking_the_sound_barrier_democracy_now

This shows clearly that Obama was the chosen candidate from the start of 2008, that he was supported by Lockheed Martin (who OWN MSNBC and have profitted hugely from the Iraq war) and is not bringing any change other than the colour of the residents of the White House.

The controlling elites played the 'race card' very well and conned America and in particular the rest of the world into a false hope.

They also know that Obamas con job will not last very long and that they have a limited time window to push their agenda forward.

The only ones who can stop this agenda are YOU AND I. because it is not just the US Governemnt that is doing this, it's the G20 group of countries too, and you are lving in one.

The time for action is now. And if true change is to happen, it will be done by you and I, and millions of people at the street/grassroots level upwards, because WE CAN!

And if you believe you can't then think again. Because YOU CAN! YOU KNOW YOU CAN!

All the main UK papers went ballistic claiming Obama was a real change, knowing all of the above.

Medialens.org have done an excellent piece on this in their latest alert, which includes the emails of those 'journalists' and editors at The Independent, Guardian, Times and Telegraph, who brayed loudly about Obama being the new shining light of democracy and peace.

Medialens promotes a rational and compassionate rebuttal of the mainstream medias lies when and where the occur (an all to frequent happening) and suggests that those who write to media to say that "we know that you know, now, that we know you are lying!" and here's why, do so politely. I agree!

Natural Building, Community, Vitality and fun!

Self reliance built from nature at the grassroots level is the best and only sustainable solution to the issues we are facing regarding our use of the environment.

Genuine autonomy also underpins a sense of community and shared values, which we in the industrialised world have all but lost, that is at the core healthy and psychologically functional living.

There is no genuine autonomy without self empathy, and with that empathy for others, a sense of how sacred each persons autonomy is, how precious a gift that is to share with others.

And note the vitality of peoples happiness, and their ability to be empathetic in spite of different languages!

YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE - I KNOW WHO I AM

Recently I did a spontaneous spoken word/poetry performance piece, entitled (after the fact) "I KNOW WHO I AM!" which worked through the issue of self awareness and self knowledge.

The basic idea is that by imposing external concepts upon a child's mind, and heart and by conditioning through schooling, the child is alienated from his or her true sense of self, and that is the basis for control by others. The implication is that as a new born baby "I KNEW WHO I WAS".... as we all do.

Read this and understand that the workings of the Education System, Corporations, Media and Government are predicated upon the direction of children away from themselves!

-------------------------------------------------

William Torrey Harris

..........it's time for you to meet William Torrey Harris, U.S. Commissioner of Education from 1889 to 1906. No one, other than Cubberley, who rose out of the ranks of professional pedagogues ever had as much influence as Harris. Harris both standardized and Germanized our schools. Listen to his voice from The Philosophy of Education, published in1906:

Ninety-nine [students] out of a hundred are automata, careful to walk in prescribed paths, careful to follow the prescribed custom. This is not an accident but the result of substantial education, which, scientifically defined, is the subsumption of the individual.
The Philosphy of Education (1906)

Listen to Harris again, giant of American schooling, leading scholar of German philosophy in the Western hemisphere, editor and publisher of The Journal of Speculative Philosophy which trained a generation of American intellectuals in the ideas of the Prussian thinkers Kant and Hegel, the man who gave America scientifically age-graded classrooms to replace successful mixed-age school practice. Again, from The Philosophy of Education, Harris sets forth his gloomy vision:

The great purpose of school can be realized better in dark, airless, ugly places.... It is to master the physical self, to transcend the beauty of nature. School should develop the power to withdraw from the external world.
The Philosphy of Education (1906)

Nearly a hundred years ago, this schoolman thought self-alienation was the secret to successful industrial society. Surely he was right. When you stand at a machine or sit at a computer you need an ability to withdraw from life, to alienate yourself without a supervisor. How else could that be tolerated unless prepared in advance by simulated Birkenhead drills? School, thought Harris, was sensible preparation for a life of alienation. Can you say he was wrong?

-------------------------------

A child who is unaware of this process, will have suppressed that true sense of self, and replaced it with a persona that the society and parents will have, in one way or another, indicated to the child what ideal role to adopt, and the child will of course evolve her or his own adaption to that role. That child will all the more easily do the same to his or her own children, and of course, rationalise the whole thing as being for the child's own good!

Yet within, the true self is looking for ways to live, and this creates a series of tensions within the individual.... tensions that can be temporarily assuaged by addiction, hobbies, religion, ideologies, compulsive behaviours, achievements and so on.

The only way to resolve this issue is to get to the core true self, and to then live that self. And the only way to do that, is through ruthless self honesty.... no external will replace that quality, no drug, no cosmic vibration, no guru, no yoga , no self-help book will do that work.... and certainly no psychiatrist or psychologist will do that work for another, for they can only do it for themselves, and having done so, can only, at the very best, be an enlightened witness and supportive companion for another who wants help in this area. And this is rarely the case.

For me, the knowledge that I KNEW WHO I WAS as a child led me to the understanding that who I am is a lot about what I honestly feel about the way things are being done around me - I either like them or I do not, they either work for me or they do not, there is no confusion, just a clarity

We know that the heart is a cognitive, sentient and intelligent organ, that it contains a brain and is linked to the main head brain by direct neurons, single cells connecting them both. We know the heart will sense and observe aspects of the world around before the eye/brain cognition kicks in.

Visit www.heartmath.org to learn more about the heart brain intelligence.

We know that in great literature, and in the popular arts alike that the heart is portrayed as emotional, non-rational and is to a degree sentimentalised. And that directs the cognitive functions away from the heart to the brain, mind which is heavily conditioned as outlined above.

We need our heart intelligence because it is closer to our true self, and that as a bulwark against bullhsit we get the rationalised world of ideological economics, wars, pollution dumping and priestly paedophilia!

Is it not time to unveil the greatest taboo in our society? We are conditioned, and have been conditioned to comply with the abuse of our own children and then rationalise it as being for their own good so they can get a job and prosper! And then extreme cases of abuse are held up on the media to allow a scapegoating that lets the State and it's sponsors off scott free!

Unity, Empathy and Diversity.

Unity, Empathy and Diversity.

Many people are talking about A New World Order, and the imposition of the ‘one good way’ to do things.

From religions to corporations to ideologies through to governments, many are espousing, what appears to me at least, an singular or monotheistic approach to how humanity ought best ‘advance’ in the near and distant future.

“Our way is the best and only way!” is the common cry.

“Democracy!”, shouts “George Bush!”

“No Condoms!”, squeals the Pope!

“Sugababes and I-pods”, blare the media adverts! “

”Free Trade!” , shouts Gordon Brown!

“Education, Education, Education!”, shouted Tony Blair!

“Pharmaceuticals!” trill the medical Authorities!

“Caesareans or forceps”, roar the birthing surgeons!

“More Exams!”, bluster the Educators!

“Off with their heads!”, scream the fundamentalists!

All of these fanatics (and lets be clear here - they are fanatics) are, it would appear, lacking in at least one quality essential to a healthy and enjoyable human life : true empathy. They also harbour a deep distrust in native intelligence.

They all seem to take the view that there is no real need for diversity, no need to trust localised intelligence, no room for assuming that those on the ground in different places may have the ability to adapt to those unique sets of circumstance in ways that are essentially their own. In ways that are essentially successful and sustainable.

An example is the comparison between the range of types of apples available in supermarkets and the range of apples to be found in the English countryside.

Supermarkets - 6 to ten, English countryside 14,000. This can be applied across the board to all foodstuffs. And all habitats and climates. Why so few when we have so many to chose from? Why not have the local varieties in the local supermarkets? Duh! Instead they will seek to grow a few species in concentrated areas, pick and pack them, then ship them to their distribution centres and sort and pack them again, then ship them back to their shops! And in order to make this process cheap they squeeze the prices the producer gets, making it more difficult for producers to keep the local variety! Doh!

What I am saying here is that local adaptation is driven by local knowledge that can only be gained through intimacy, and that the universal imposition of ‘the one good way’ is essentially a profound lack of intimacy. Or empathy.

Empathy is described as the capacity to recognize or understand or feel or sense another's state of mind or emotion. It is often characterized as the ability to "put oneself into another's shoes", or to in some way experience the outlook or emotions of another being within oneself. It can also be used to describe sensitivity to the nature of the environment. A sensitivity that embraces the basic scientific method in itself, for it is fundamentally an observation of the factual world. Thus theories about what is toxic or otherwise in food are likely to be lethal. Knowledge is required.

Nature is extraordinarily good at the localised unique adaptation process and produces more than enough food, water and shelter for the billions of creature and plants that abide across our home, the surface of planet Earth. There is no scientific evidence nor any reasonable way to assume that human beings are anything but of nature. And therefore innately and perfectly well equipped for that localised adaptive process.

So why is there this incessant demand for a unitary way? And what evidence is there to support it’s evangelists assertions?

Is World Peace possible?

Yes!

Of course peace is possible, for the entire family of humanity, and all the other living creatures on Earth.

All children are inherently, innately peaceful, intelligent (in different ways), creative and beautiful.

The starting point for peace is the childs experiences as he or she grows.

Alice Millers work "The Roots of Violence : For Your Own Good" demonstrates clearly, with plenty of evidence, that the childs upbringing is the predominant factor in determining whether or not he or she is compassionate, empathetic and self-reliant or wether her or she becomes fearful, a bully or a basically angry person, or an out of contro psychopath.

Irrespective of religion, philosophy or any other factor, a child who is listened to and respected becomes and adult who listens to others and respects others.

A child who is treated with gentleness and encouragement will grow into an adult who treats others in a similar fashion.

It is not a question of discipline or chastisement, it is not a question of, as some hold, mastering the child, controlling him or her or a matter of indoctrination.

When children are seen, as some marketeers see them, as 'evolving consumers' or as Governments see them, a work force in the making or as potential soldiers for their armies, or as easy converts to religions or ideologies the children are being used for adults purposes, and thus moulded, coerced into boxes that are not innate, those children become constructs of society, rather than natural individuals who truely know who they are, who live life with vitality, integrity and authenticity.

John Taylor Gatto has written about the way the project to craft "Compulsory State Education" was driven to achieve this. Here is a quote that is chilling in its content, and the context is that of creating a class of people who will do what they are told to do, irrespective of the psychic cost to themselves.

Between 1896 and 1920, a small group of industrialists and financiers, together with their private charitable foundations, subsidized university chairs, university researchers, and school administrators, spent more money on forced schooling than the government itself did. Carnegie and Rockefeller, as late as 1915, were spending more themselves. In this laissez-faire fashion a system of modern schooling was constructed without public participation. The motives for this are undoubtedly mixed, but it will be useful for you to hear a few excerpts from the first mission statement of Rockefeller’s General Education Board as they occur in a document called Occasional Letter Number One (1906):

"In our dreams...people yield themselves with perfect docility to our molding hands. The task we set before ourselves is very simple...we will organize children...and teach them to do in a perfect way the things their fathers and mothers are doing in an imperfect way."

And the things to be done in a pefect way? Working in factories, bureaucracies, corporations and in armies. And to what greater purpose? Why to control the worlds wealth and to craft what these indusrialists called a 'perfectly ordered society'.

We must face the fact that as a culture, the leaders of the industrial World, and others, are have been and still are using our chidren for their own purposes, and in doing so, they denature and warp the children. This is the greatest of taboos, and must be broken.

Hitler could not have done what he did without the support of money, and also many hundreds of thousands of angry people, ordinary people, looking for scapegoats for their unresolved psychic woundings.

George Bush and Tony Blair could not have launched wars that have killed 1.2 million people, 1/3rd of whom are, were children under the age of 15 without our compliance, our indifference, our deficit in empathy, our timidity and obedience.

Those qualities are not innate, they are learned and are the product, if not the intent of the conditioning process I have described.

Luckily the system of conditioning is not perfect, and many children do manage to slip through the net, partly due to parents who are able to give them the space to be authentic, partly because some people are less able to submit to being conditioned.

There are many, many healthy, empathetic and compassionate people. And there are the many who have not had the chance to grow that way. Healing is possible.

The future depends upon how we treat our children. Upon whether we listen to them or condition them.

And that is something we CAN change.

Elite Virus : Alluenza

Some of my most profound insights have come during the process of bowel evacuation. I have this theory that letting go, relaxing with the flow, opens one to new information, making room for new nourishment. My favourite place for that is the outdoors compost loos at festivals that are smart enough to have them installed... outdoors, airy and free from toxic chemicals!

Here's an insight I had recently..... on my own loo at home (too cold for outdoors!)..

The elite, who as people, on a personal level, gain great psychic satisfaction and ego stimulation from ‘owning’ or ‘possessing’ great wealth, fine goods and land, ‘good wives’ and a lineage of ‘good breeding,’ and see all that as ‘really good’ have, by controlling education, media, religion, advertising, commerce and war, infected ‘ordinary’ people with their psychology. By imposing it. By indoctrination.

They also believe, and it is a belief, a false myth or dysfunctional fairy tale if you will, that they are elite, more intelligent and more beautiful than the majority of other people, because their genes are superior to those of poor, coloured and female human beings……… and that their great wealth etc etc is proof positive that this must be so.

This also explains their willingness to murder, poison and otherwise harm, at whim, all those who hold opposing views or get in the way of a good profit.

What turds they be! lol!

Only it's no laughing matter.

For example, here's an email from 1991, sent by Larry Summers, an economist, and currently a primo candidate for Obamas' Cabinet, as Treasury Secretary, an individual clearly infected with this deathly virus :

A controversial 1991 World Bank memo signed by
Chief Economist Larry Summers reads as follows (excerpts):

THE MEMO
DATE: December 12, 1991
TO: Distribution
FR: Lawrence H. Summers
Subject: GEP
"'Dirty' Industries: Just between you and me, shouldn't the World Bank be encouraging MORE migration of the dirty industries to the LDCs [Less Developed Countries]? I can think of three reasons:
1) The measurements of the costs of health impairing pollution depends on the foregone earnings from increased morbidity and mortality. From this point of view a given amount of health impairing pollution should be done in the country with the lowest cost, which will be the country with the lowest wages. I think the economic logic behind dumping a load of toxic waste in the lowest wage country is impeccable and we should face up to that.
2) The costs of pollution are likely to be non-linear as the initial increments of pollution probably have very low cost. I've always though that under-populated countries in Africa are vastly UNDER-polluted, their air quality is probably vastly inefficiently low compared to Los Angeles or Mexico City. Only the lamentable facts that so much pollution is generated by non-tradable industries (transport, electrical generation) and that the unit transport costs of solid waste are so high prevent world welfare enhancing trade in air pollution and waste.
3) The demand for a clean environment for aesthetic and health reasons is likely to have very high income elasticity. The concern over an agent that causes a one in a million change in the odds of prostrate cancer is obviously going to be much higher in a country where people survive to get prostrate cancer than in a country where under 5 mortality is is 200 per thousand. Also, much of the concern over industrial atmosphere discharge is about visibility impairing particulates. These discharges may have very little direct health impact. Clearly trade in goods that embody aesthetic pollution concerns could be welfare enhancing. While production is mobile the consumption of pretty air is a non-tradable."
"The problem with the arguments against all of these proposals for more pollution in LDCs (intrinsic rights to certain goods, moral reasons, social concerns, lack of adequate markets, etc.) could be turned around and used more or less effectively against every Bank proposal for liberalization."

This is hatred, racism rationalised as economics, pure and simple.

These kinds of people are the most toxic of all. Wealthy, emotionally blind, and psychotically driven.

There is a great need for this dynamic to be understood, by us folk, us ordinary vulnerable folk, and we must come to terms with the the ways in which they manipulate us; we must understand this at both the personal and societal level.

Obama, War and the value of an MBA

I tend write as if I am correct in my understanding, and I do of course acknowledge that I am at best surmising the most clear picture I can from my own position, and that is bound to be incomplete. I would like to delve a bit deeper into my thinking and bounce it off you.

Death by War is closer to most than climate change.

I wrote about the 'immediate' threats we face, and I used the word 'immediate' because there are far too many people being murdered daily across this planet by the war machine (most of which is funded by ordinary people like you and I, in taxes, consumption of products etc etc which are taxed) - for them the threat is imminent. Our comfort does not make that threat any less imminent!

I am talking here about the generalised war on terror, the war on drugs and many other wars that are ongoing and from which the corporations of the world are deriving benefits.

Dealing with the causes of war is a core part. Those root causes are in my opinion generalised conditioning via state schooling, media and organised religion, the profit/greed and inhumane ideologies of the Corporation.

Resource wars due to 'over population' is a misnomer - they are mostly due to attempts by the neo-liberal ideology of globalisation (whether it is capitalist or otherwise - eg : china) to force indigenous self reliant peasants and similar others off land that is required for exploitation, and to thus create a vast workforce that is cheap and vulnerable. Who will at some time aspire to become comfortable middle class, once a generation of their children is exposed to media conditioning. More growth.

The culture of infinite expansion and economic growth is the direst of problems, yet it is not so much the population growth but the profit delivering consumer product growth that is eating the resources up. There is a surplus of food fit for humans on this earth even today, in spite of the millions dying for wnat of such food!

It is the non-recyclable nature of our production that is the issue - for example the idea that we can continue to manufacture more cars as long as they are fuel efficient is a red herring. Those cars must be made so that the recycling of them is completely integrated as part of the process. It is the damage caused by the fact of non-recyclable materials that is driving environmental degradation, and the loss of forests etc that is driving climate change, far more than the use of fossil fuels. Old cars must be recycled or reused with efficient fuels until that recycling has been sorted. Obama, of course, is ignoring this.

It's the economy, stupid! Not!

As for Obama's rise to power, of course the media are saying it is due to the economic turmoil, precisely because they want to; they have to denigrate and minimise the huge opposition to the wars and to the loss of civil liberties and to globalisation and privatiation and mask it's presence, in particular where it is strongest amongst the youth voters, the new voters in the Black, Hispanic and other communities, as well as those who have felt disenfranchised over the past 20 years and have stopped voting, yet returned as a result of community activism by Nader and others like him - those voters cast their votes with Obama rather than McCain as a vote of no confidence in Bush et al rather than direct support for Obama.

The economic turbulence was really crafted to take the wars off the election agenda - because if the wars had stayed firmly on the agenda two possibilities would have existed that the bankers etc wanted to avoid at all costs - any public discussion of these must always be terminated : the first is the legality of those wars being discussed in detail, the second being the inevitable call for the laws against war to be upheld which would lead to impeachment of not merely the leadership in the white house, but the prosecution of the CEOs and henchmen of JP Morgan, Halliburton, Blackwater, Lockheed Martin, BAe and so on..... all of whom are legally liable for war crimes in that they have directly supported these wars and have profited very from them.

By masking that group of new voters, by taking the war off the agenda, they can still hold onto the middle classes who really like to remain as myopic as possible - pretty much as they did in Nazi Germany - which is the danger of Middle class psychology; they like and are attached viscerally to their comfort and status - it forms part of their ego identity, which as you know is extremely defensive when threatened even in the slightest.

The value of an MBA

The middle classes are crucial because they are the line managers of the bureaucratic and corporate system - without them the system cannot operate. Without their support the system fails to carry out the orders issued, and worse than that these people can change the system from within if they awaken. That cannot and will not be allowed.

The use of black psychology as a core control tool is old, is deep and is intense. "Give me the boy, and I will give you the man!" Of course those who use such tools always back them up with a willingness to use force, and when neccessary to kill large numbers of people....Hiroshima, Cambodia, Fallujah....

The value of an acedemic examination to those who set it, is not in the ability to determine the knowledge of the person sitting the exam, but to determine the extent to which that person has changed their behaviour so that the system can reliably slot that person into the appropriate slot. That is what 'outcome based education ' is all about. That is the real value of an MBA. They know who will work for them and ignore the harm they do.
