Soldiers Human Rights -Tragic Oxymoron!

I saw this report on the BBC wesbite, here's the original

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7342324.stm

As I read through it I found myself makings these following comments - they are in italics.

This is what I think.

What do you think? Lets be honest here.

Human rights 'apply to UK troops'

(bbc headline!)

Human rights laws can be applied to British troops even in combat, a High Court judge has ruled
.
Duh!

The landmark judgement came in a test case relating to the death of Scottish soldier Pte Jason Smith in Iraq.

Mr Justice Collins said sending soldiers into action without proper kit could breach human rights. Ministers are appealing against the ruling.

What about the human rights of those caught in the crossfire?

What kind of kit would the court estimate would be 'poper' for a woman with three children, and two grandparents caught in the crossfire?

Whose responsibility is it to provide that kit?

The court also ruled families of those killed in conflict should get legal aid and access to military documents.

Ditto…

The judgement came during a request for military inquest guidelines in the case of Pte Smith, 32, from Hawick, in the Scottish Borders, who died of heatstroke in Iraq in 2003.

Legal defeat

Moral Victory?

Phyrric Victory!

Lawyers for the Ministry of Defence (MoD) had argued it was impossible to give soldiers in combat situations the benefits of the Human Rights Act.

But Mr Justice Collins said that although a duty of care could not be expected in combat, troops did not lose all protection.

So give them proper kit? Still getting shot at! And shooting back! Still murder! Still illegal!

It's an illegal war of aggression!

m8!

For example, sending a soldier out on patrol with defective equipment might be a breach of Article 2 of the Human Rights Act - the right to life, which in the event of death requires an independent inquiry.

Many believe the judgement will make it easier for the families of those injured or killed in Iraq and Afghanistan to claim for compensation.

Is it really that hard?

The decision was a legal defeat for Defence Secretary Des Browne who also had his attempt to ban coroners from using critical phrases such as "serious failure" rejected.

It is! You would sell your mothers soul for whateva!

Jocelyn Cockburn, the solicitor for Pte Smith's family, said the ruling meant British soldiers sent abroad would "have the same human rights as any other British citizens and must be properly equipped when sent into battle".

Hmmmmmmmm …. aren't human rights applicable to ALL nationalities, equally and without favour?

Duh!

Hello?

Catherine Smith, Pte Smith's mother, welcomed the decision and said she hoped other families would now not have to struggle in the same way she did to find out how their loved ones died.

"It was questions upon questions that we couldn't get - we couldn't get any information at all. And I think that's wrong. We should've had disclosure."

She's right, of course. And braver , so much more committed to just cause than many in parliament, in that she seeks to face down the Government and the MOD! She is their equal in every way. Each of us is.

'Common sense'

Diane Dernie, the mother of L/Bombadier Ben Parkinson, from Yorkshire, who was injured in an explosion in Afghanistan last year, told the BBC the decision was "absolute common sense".

Soldiers Human Rights -Tragic Oxymoron!

Liberty director Shami Chakrabarti said it was now clear it was "not just the military covenant that protects our forces all over the world".

"Their fundamental right to dignity and fair treatment must be safeguarded as well."

As well as what, might I ask?

Their right to murder people?

Their right to follow illegal orders?

Their right to NOT follow illegal orders?

... or is that a duty, under the Law?

But shadow(y) defence(sive) secretary Liam Fox said it should not have taken a court decision for ministers to realise they had "a responsibility and a moral obligation" to ensure troops were the "best trained and best equipped in the world".

Human Rights? 'Best' trained killers? 'Best' weapons of mass destruction? This is insane!

Liberal Democrat defence spokesman Nick Harvey described the ruling as a "shattering ruling for Des Browne" and said he hoped it would "wake the government up" to equipment shortages.
HAVE YOUR SAY

I must be at the wrong meeting!

The government has a moral obligation to equip those it sends into battle on our behalf properly
Matt Hennessy, London Send us your comments

Those in government, being of able body, and unmarried have a moral obligation to equip themselves appropriately and go fight the fuckin' wars themselves.

However, Mr Browne told the BBC his department had come "a long way" in response to "the changing environment both in Iraq and Afghanistan" regarding equipment.

So That's all right then! You guys are on it! Yay! LMAO!

"So this is criticism which is dated criticism from a different time. It is not applicable to the troops that are presently deployed."

Well that's nice to hear! Although ithe courts decision is a precedent! Well, OK then, possibly….

He confirmed the MoD would be appealing against the ruling that sending British soldiers into battle with defective equipment could breach human rights.

You What? Appeal? Didn't you hear the man? You really want to send young men to me maimed, traumatised, even to their deaths, men you have asked to do your dirty work for you?

You Absolute Tosser! And all who like you see fit to use legal instruments applied to mitigate murder, as opposed to banning it outright. Ist that it?

On the judge's rejection of the government's bid to stop coroners using critical language, the MoD said it had never attempted to prevent coroners from "undertaking independent investigations and making their findings public".

You quibble over wording when peoples lives are destroyed by decision that you make and their consequences.

Damn! I got taken in again, for a moment I had lost the sight of all the civilians who are the majority of casualties, across all three spectra - psychological trauma, maiming, death not to mention the collapse of society, for a moment I was really only concerned about the soldiers human rights.

Just stop the bloody war and start to make reparations, dude! It's our money. We WANT YOU TO DO THIS!

Stop the war.

....and... geuss what?

Brownie Boy

....... is NOT

..... really

..... listening!

So hit him, and all the civilian and corporate war makers where it hurts - in the pocket, to do this we need to build communities everywhere, that is talk to each other and break the spell of the denial- we all need to learn to grow food, and start to withold our taxes that we who do pay taxes, pay to central government.....and this is legaly sound and cannot be prosecuted under any law because it is merely upholding the Law, both National and International..it is do-able..... and if done....... then very soon after it will bring the wars to a close.

Then it won't matter if they don't listen. They will stand trial.

People must be mature ebough to accept the responsibility of taking any and all possible legal action that leads to stopping thes wars dead in their tracks.

Be the Law!

It's about all humans rightful expectation that peace should prevail, that greed be curbed and that wars shoudl stop. Now. Just say No!

Olympics SchmOlympircks!

The Olympic protests are great! They show the hypocrisy of all current model of Governance for what it is! Well done those who disrupt the flames progress around the globe!

Many in the Wests Media are currently pointing the finger at the Chinese Government, and many 'pundits' are commenting on China's suppression of Tibet, asking questions about China's readiness to 'enter the fold' of Democracies. They also ask questions about the apparent inability of various police forces to suppress the protesters and make comments on the 'disruption' and 'bad publicity' that the organisers, the IOC, are having to 'deal' with.

Yet few of them are realising that there are three other fingers pointing right back at themselves, and that to those who have the eyes to see, it is blindingly obvious (a neat oxymoron, if ever there was one) that those who on one hand engage in Wars of Aggression, those who export pollution to other countries to maintain the illusion of clean technologies in their own countries, those who exercise power over people rather than power for the people as standard behaviour are in no place to criticise others whose practices they supposedly abhor.

Finger One : There is the cogent fact that the West has exported almost all of it's toxic polluting manufacturing processes to China, where child labour and near as damnit indentured labour exist as standard fare for the majority, in particular those who come from the countryside...

On this our pundits remain silent. In fact most of the products they are wearing, using and consuming are made in China.

Finger Two : Furthermore, our own Governments are engaged in illegal wars of aggression in Iraq, Afghanistan and possibly in other places under covert operations..... and this is something they have always done, it is nothing new. It is our history.

Another aspect of the Olympics, though hardly worth a finger (other than in the proverbial) is the drug taking that is rife! Both amongst the athletes (performance enhancing) and those who design and build the facades, the edifices of greed, the modern day coliseums. I am sure it takes a lot of cocaine to set up the great big deals and make the 'cool' designs (most of which are truly dreadful - the London Logo being but one example!) - hubris and greed, as ever bedmates!

The survival of the fittest is a meme that Empire spreads in order to provide manure for it's agenda, and it is proven to be so far wide of the mark that it is purely by virtue of the conditioning process we have all been subjected to that it is ever discussed in an serious terms.

Bio-diversity Science tells us what the ancients knew well, because they lived on the land, with the land and saw themselves as being of the land - they knew that all nature is a life-giving co-operative, a vast altruistic interaction that provides everything within it what it needs to grow to full potential.

Finger Three : Compare that with Western Civilisation, which chews up everything it meets, spits out what is of no use either to itself or any other life form, and continues to grow, to expand, to dominate all other ways of living. Western Civilisation, being the civilisation of city states, eats up the natural resources and converts them into toxins. For what?

For profit, for greed and for power over others. All the symptoms of a profound, abysmal loss of identity, a deep sense of inadequacy and thus a fatal misunderstanding of the nature and great gift of life.

Here's my video fro my song "The Olympics are Here"

Enjoy is hardly the word, but if you have a car with a good sound system, put the song on yer player and open the windows, drive slowly and play it LOUD!

What to do.............?

A friend of mine wrote to me to tell me that he felt much of what I was saying in my writings, songs and videos ... yet he was at a loss as to what to do, .... so I fired of this to him. He liked it, so I'm putting it up here for comment....

WHAT TO DO..........

First off, be sure of who one is, ie: trust feelings, and be honest with them. Everything we have ever been told by the representatives of the system has been intended to make us forget who we are. people who are unsure will adopt an external element as an identity prop. I've done it myself, many times.

Even about 99.9% of new age stuff!

Being true to oneself, acting with integrity is vital. NEVER EVER do anything, say anything other than what you really feel.

Be one who can be broken (killed) yet NEVER BENT TO ANOTHERS WAY. We are of use to those who manipulate if we are capable of being bent....

Two - take care of your own happiness, sort your issues out as a daily yoga. This will help you see clearly what is real and what is not. Feelings are vitally important here. Recognise that emotions are merely feelings re-interpreted by the brain/mind that is conditioned. Reject the re-interpretation, and be honest.

Three - avoid fear based myth, stories etc, because fear clouds perception.

Four - eradicate any beliefs you hold. Know or accept you do not know and rest with that. It's ok! Beliefs are the basis for all religions, 99% of new age stuff, all ideologies etc....

Then, with a sense of humour, and gratitude for this life, for the fingers you did nothing to create, for the eyes you have to see, for the light that enables your eyes to work, live and be who you are. Life is a humungous gift, freely given. Treat it as such at all times.

Then, in your own way, without trying to impress anyone, spread the word, and be prepared to get involved in direct action, when the time comes. For many the time is now!

Music's function is to empower, not to impress. People who are impressed are impressionable. Which is a product of conditioning.

I can tell you this - I am not going mad. I'm getting mad as hell, outraged at what is happening. And it's coming from a man who is happy to be who he is.

There are no guarantees, and each as day passes there's far more people getting clear in themselves, and working around the 'system' than the media would ever allow. Already we outnumber the psycho control freaks by a factor of 1 million to 1....

Easter.........bunnies, music and compassion.

This weekend was Easter, it was the Zoastrian new year as well and it was also the Spring Equinox, with a beautiful full moon to boot.

For me it was a weekend of beautiful music, intelligent, compassionate people and also the appearance of the first buds of a soft, sweet Corneilius as a performer. Soft and strong, like the loo paper! lol!

I have been ranting a fair bit at gigs in the past few years, partly because I have been deeply immersed in looking directly at what is not working in our culture, at the wars, theh greed, the dysfunction, the consciously imposed plans for domination and control .... and partly because I feel there is a need and a place for the anger that comes from outrage to find expression. And also attempting to coming to terms with the reality of the needless mass pain that is inflicted as a result of those consciously crafted plans by those who seek power. I have found that I am not diminished in any way when I fully appraise the reality and allow myself to 'feel' what is going on.

Sometimes the 'rational' discussion that media engage in seems so ... heartless, devoid of hope or compassion, resigned to "well this is how it is, it can't be changed, so deal with it" sort of.....and the endless 'debate' in Politics seems to be merely a distraction, a sideshow to the underlying dynamics that make corporate greed, consumerism and fear the order of the day...

Thus I have been openly angry, openly unhappy, openly broken hearted on stage and on on-line.

This weekend I performed at a squat party as a dj, for the second time in two years (it's been that long since I was a regular dj at chill-out rooms) and I ended up playing three sets, ( Ilove to play, I am a stage slut!) about 8 hours in total. The second set, early in the morning seemed to ingnite the room, as I hit a really good vibe, and really felt into the vibe in the room. We were all in it together. It was gorgeous. I am so lucky to have such beautiful music in my possession, tracks I have found my self, and tracks given to me by some of the best djs I know..i9 was blessing all of them as track after track worked for the people inbthe room.......and it is the music that does the work, I merely select the tracks hoping it's the best track for that room, at that point in time. It's all about the dancers, the chatters, the comfort in the people....

It's all about the beauty. No need for a 'message' in that environment. No place to rant. Very refreshing indeed.

On sunday evening I did the Harmony Sunday at Inspiralled Cafe in Camden Town, and this weekend Dom, the owner, came into pass some feedback to us about how the event was going, feedback we needed....... he asked that we refocus the room so that the artists really had the peoples attention and suggested that we do 15 minute sets followed by a 10 minute break so that people could order food and drinks and chat....and geuss what, it worked beautifully.

The room was so attentive and the performers were all great. My own short set comprised 4 songs. Dom had asked me to include some different songs as I had always played the 'cup of tea' song over the past few months (along with my more rantier stuff!). So I played 4 of my sweetest gentlest songs, to match the quiet attention of the room, and it really showed me that it is my gentle, compaasionate side that is most effective in getting the message across. Everyone was intent on every note, every word. I was allowed in that environment to access the deepest emotions and feelings related to the songs, and there was also room for some humour too as I chatted in between the songs. A delight for all concerned.

set list

Keep on Moving, (keep on growing strong)
Expectations of Every Child
Love is not for Earning
The Heart Song

I also made a quick video, omn Saturday afternoon, before th gig, it's a satire, a parody highlighting the contrast in the money spent on war and the money spent on Easter Candy........

Does Education Kill Creativity?

Sir Ken Robinson makes an entertaining (and profoundly moving) case for creating an education system that nurtures creativity, rather than undermining it. With ample anecdotes and witty asides, Robinson points out the many ways our schools fail to recognize -- much less cultivate -- the talents of many brilliant people. "We are educating people out of their creativity," Robinson says. The universality of his message is evidenced by its rampant popularity online. A typical review: "If you have not yet seen Sir Ken Robinson's TED talk, please stop whatever you're doing and watch it now

Our Heart is an Intelligent, Cognitive Organ of Perception - use it!

I have been at my wits end lately what with Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine and all the rest and how so many people appear to be sleepwalking though all of this..........

And in Education lies part of the answer. Part also lies in out hearts.

When people learn what education is about (as in the previous post ) they might well be, like I was, both relieved and angry. I hope that the anger of parents who realise what the state wants to do to their children, and indeed what it did to they themselves, that much will change, and rapidly. It has certainly empowered me to know the facts of the matter regarding education.

It also ties in with Alice Millers work in the psychological understanding of what happens, and has happened for quite a while, for children in our world from their point of view growing into our culture of Empire.

In clinical psychology, we now understand that a child, in particular those children who experience some form of abuse or family or social dysfunction, (common enough in our schools down the last 200 years or so), will often reach a point when the he or she realises that the adults do not ’get’ the child, the ’who I am’ of that child, and at that moment the child in facing that, experiences a deep sense of resignation " that things will never change!", that comes with a great feeling of sadness, hopelessness, and perhaps anger, all of which of course is more or less quickly supresssed as the child has to deal with the pressing realities of life. With this experience comes a shutting down of feeling. And that is the childs way of forgettting,of suppressing the unbearable truth, in order to survive....

Nonetheless it’s there, that ’wound’ if you will, in the heart of each of us.

Some do recover, the rebels, eccentric artists and others who make their own lives. Some acceptd by society, some not.

And it is to that recovery in the population of all those who have been through the system, who work and pay taxes, whose daily activities support the system that utilises war as atool of policy and power, that the Peace Movement must direct some of it’s attention to in order to really move onto the next level.

The turth must be told.

This documentary "Mindshock - Transplant Memories" shows how the heart is a seat of sentience, an organ of intelligence in and of itself!

..

This connects for me with the resignation of the child, the resignation of the people, because research has shown that the heart is what first senses in so many aspects, the brain being the secondary sensor, and the two working best in tandem. They inform each other. Education denies the intelligence of the heart, in favour of the taught thinking brain, a thinking which is conditioned to think in certain ways by the education.

By transforming the perception of the heart through this conditioning into the sentimental, the romantic or the sturdy, strong and brave, the other sensings and intelligence of the heart is masked, occluded. Denied.

We now know that it is much, much more than merely a sentimental symbol.

It is at the core of our sensing of who we are, at the core of our intelligence.

It is vital that we reclaim our heart intelligence, our innate and uniquely personal heart intelligence if we are to transform the affairs of humanity. And we are bleesed with two blessings in this. All of the above; the understanding of what has been done, the understanding of the role of the heart and also, happily for all concerned, all those who still live lives embedded in nature, the beautiful indigenous peoples of our Earth.

Their hearts are, for the most part, working with their brains.

For us, it will not neccessarily be a case of going back to nature to 'live in mud huts', though I am sure many will choose that, for our culture it will mean changing our values so that what we do to live, does no harm., and that we do this by consensus, not by being ruled.

Imagine Self-Governance with heart! Now there’s a vision for a future. Anarchy with healthy Heart Intelligence at it’s core!

The Function of Education : why we failed to stop the English Government prosecuting the Iraq War

As I edit this in England in 2021 and I observe head teachers and teachers willingly exposing the children in their care to a dangerous pathogen, after 20 months of pandemic, with no end in sight, with layers of command responsibility and culpability going all the way up to Parliament as a whole body, and the Government and 'Opposition' within it, all of them educated in their own time by the compulsion methodology and ideology, this rather badly typed (in the original form, when I was still dealing with serious issues within myself, or rather barely coping to be more honest) short piece is germaine.

"free yourself from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our minds" ~ Bob Marley

"Education! Education! Education!" ~ Tony Blair

Why was it that millions upon millions of English people were unable to stop a few thousand English Ruling Class from initiating and persecuting an amoral, illegal war?

I think it all boils down the the function of Compulsory State Education.

Below is an excerpt from an article that explores what is most likely the hidden agenda of Compulsory (note that word) State Education (no child left behind) - its utility as a political inhibitor, designed to thwart emergent democratic organisation that might dislodge the established power groups from their dominating positions.

Compulsory - coerced education - is not what we are led to believe...

"The odd fact of a Prussian provenance for our schools pops up again and again once you know to look for it.

William James alluded to it many times at the turn of the century. Orestes Brownson, the hero of Christopher Lasch’s 1991 book, The True and Only Heaven, was publicly denouncing the Prussianization of American schools back in the 1840s. Horace Mann’s "Seventh Annual Report" to the Massachusetts State Board of Education in 1843 is essentially a paean to the land of Frederick the Great and a call for its schooling to be brought here.

That Prussian culture loomed large in America is hardly surprising, given our early association with that utopian state. A Prussian served as Washington’s aide during the Revolutionary War, and so many German-speaking people had settled here by 1795 that Congress considered publishing a German-language edition of the federal laws.

But what shocks is that we should so eagerly have adopted one of the very worst aspects of Prussian culture: an educational system deliberately designed to produce mediocre intellects, to hamstring the inner life, to deny students appreciable leadership skills, and to ensure docile and incomplete citizens in order to render the populace "manageable."

It was from James Bryant Conant-president of Harvard for twenty years, WWI poison-gas specialist, WWII executive on the atomic-bomb project, high commissioner of the American zone in Germany after WWII, and truly one of the most influential figures of the twentieth century-that I first got wind of the real purposes of American schooling.

Without Conant, we would probably not have the same style and degree of standardized testing that we enjoy today, nor would we be blessed with gargantuan high schools that warehouse 2,000 to 4,000 students at a time, like the famous Columbine High in Littleton, Colorado.

Shortly after I retired from teaching I picked up Conant’s 1959 book-length essay, The Child the Parent and the State, and was more than a little intrigued to see him mention in passing that the modem schools we attend were the result of a "revolution" engineered between 1905 and 1930.

A revolution? He declines to elaborate, but he does direct the curious and the uninformed to Alexander Inglis’s 1918 book, Principles of Secondary Education, in which "one saw this revolution through the eyes of a revolutionary."

Inglis, for whom a lecture in education at Harvard is named, makes it perfectly clear that compulsory schooling on this continent was intended to be just what it had been for Prussia in the 1820s: a fifth column into the burgeoning democratic movement that threatened to give the peasants and the proletarians a voice at the bargaining table. Modern, industrialized, compulsory schooling was to make a sort of surgical incision into the prospective unity of these underclasses.

Divide children by subject, by age-grading, by constant rankings on tests, and by many other more subtle means, and it was unlikely that the ignorant mass of mankind, separated in childhood, would ever re-integrate into a dangerous whole. Inglis breaks down the purpose - the actual purpose - of modem schooling into six basic functions, any one of which is enough to curl the hair of those innocent enough to believe the three traditional goals listed earlier:

  1) The adjustive or adaptive function. Schools are to establish fixed habits of reaction to authority. This, of course, precludes critical judgment completely. It also pretty much destroys the idea that useful or interesting material should be taught, because you can’t test for reflexive obedience until you know whether you can make kids learn, and do, foolish and boring things.

2) The integrating function. This might well be called "the conformity function," because its intention is to make children as alike as possible. People who conform are predictable, and this is of great use to those who wish to harness and manipulate a large labor force.

  3) The diagnostic and directive function. School is meant to determine each student’s proper social role. This is done by logging evidence mathematically and anecdotally on cumulative records. As in "your permanent record." Yes, you do have one.

  4) The differentiating function. Once their social role has been "diagnosed," children are to be sorted by role and trained only so far as their destination in the social machine merits - and not one step further. So much for making kids their personal best.

  5) The selective function. This refers not to human choice at all but to Darwin’s theory of natural selection as applied to what he called "the favored races." In short, the idea is to help things along by consciously attempting to improve the breeding stock. Schools are meant to tag the unfit - with poor grades, remedial placement, and other punishments - clearly enough that their peers will accept them as inferior and effectively bar them from the reproductive sweepstakes. That’s what all those little humiliations from first grade onward were intended to do: wash the dirt down the drain.

  6) The propaedeutic function. The societal system implied by these rules will require an elite group of caretakers. To that end, a small fraction of the kids will quietly be taught how to manage this continuing project, how to watch over and control a population deliberately dumbed down and declawed in order that government might proceed unchallenged and corporations might never want for obedient labor.

That, unfortunately, is the purpose of mandatory public education in this country.

And lest you take Inglis for an isolated crank with a rather too cynical take on the educational enterprise, you should know that he was hardly alone in championing these ideas. Conant himself, building on the ideas of Horace Mann and others, campaigned tirelessly for an American school system designed along the same lines.

Men like George Peabody, who funded the cause of mandatory schooling throughout the South, surely understood that the Prussian system was useful in creating not only a harmless electorate and a servile labor force but also a virtual herd of mindless consumers.

In time a great number of industrial titans came to recognize the enormous profits to be had by cultivating and tending just such a herd via public education, among them Andrew Carnegie and John D. Rockefeller. "

These words were written by John Taylor Gatto. They are accurate. They describe a fundamental reality that exists underneath and in spite of the many reforms in education, year after year,

Now you know why 30 million adults cannot stop a few thousand launching a war.

Question is what can we do about it?

Kindest regards

Corneilius

Know your enemy............

Nuts and Bolts of Western Civilisation

“it’s time to measure what we value most, rather than value what we measure most!”

The core values of mainstream political thought, which is what ‘conventional wisdom’ tends to focus upon, are not what we value as intrinsic to the human and humane experience. The reason for this is that for many millennia we have been ‘sold’ the mythology of Empire, we have been ‘spun’ a story that reflects the ‘wants’ of a powerful elite, an elite that holds they are the only ones who embody the ‘right’ to govern, and by that they mean the ‘right’ to exercise power over the majority according to their particular agenda. That power includes the power to decide who lives and who dies.

That this has led to the catastrophe of the war against terror, the degradation of the health of the environment upon which we all depend, to select but a few of the deeply unhealthy situations we are now faced with, is the truth of our present situation.

It is vitally important therefore to understand how this has come about, and what holds it in place.

1. Condition the children - prepare everyone for their place in the structure, filter out those who will not fit in. Demonise or dehumanzse them. Make them feel bad about themselves.

The education system is really a system of indoctrination that has been designed to modify the behaviour of all who pass through it. It was designed to fool all the people all the time. It sold the idea of ‘improvement’ so as to mask it’s true intent.

It was developed from studying the methodology of the Hindu system, because that was a system that was practically immutable. There was no mechanism within it for one to move up the ladder of the hierarchy. A very small minority held total power. When the British Merchantile Empire came to India, they could not dislodge the Hindu Empire, and thus the compromise of the Raj came into being.

In this, education has been the root cause of much of the problems we face today, because a child that has been adversely conditioned will never recover from that conditioning unless a situation arises to dispel the conditioned thinking, feeling and ways of perceiving the world the child has grown into. And in a society that is superstitious, insecure and excessively controlled, there are very few possibilities for this awakening to happen.

Those who set this indoctrination in place knew full well what they were doing, and in their writings to one another they were perfectly clear about this. That they did not hide their writings shows how fully assured they were of the success of their project.

The disruptive children in school are amongst the most healthy, for they show the falsehood of the system.

A clue to all this is in the oft used phrase “for your own good!”

Examine the fact that an adult will harm a child “for the childs own good”. Look at the reality of ‘bringing freedom’ to the Iraqi people!

2. Rig the Law. - Make the Law inaccessible to the majority, through expensive ritual and arcane language.

The law, like the processes of religion which ruled before it, was designed in such a manner that the ordinary person would have to engage a middle man, a form of ‘priesthood’ if you will, in order to engage in it’s processes. Much like the Church of the middle ages, the priesthood of the law, lawyers, barristers, attorneys, judges and the legislature act as the go-between for the ordinary people.

By this the system was able to dis-empower the people, and control them. And so it remains to this very day.

The Law was used in the transition to the Industrial Revolution to enable the Enclosure Acts which effectively meant that the mass of ordinary people could not grow their own food, and had to therefore depend upon the work available in the factories and their service industries to earn money to buy food. These Laws were enacted by and for the owners of the factories. Once the mass of people had ‘earned money’ as their prime resource, that led to the development of the consumer culture, which really is the production of useless products for profit and for distraction. (see 4. below)

3. Mask the reality. - Tell half truths. Market the product. Hide the conscious truth.

Like the Bible, the mythologies of Empire are constructs that are designed to look good, to appear to address the needs of the people, whilst actually re-enforcing the power of the elites. The ‘art’ of marketing is to modify behaviour rather than to sell the actual product on it’s own merits. Thus the product is bought because certain values are attached to it’s possession or use. Those values invariably resonate with internal insecurities, which the target audience is indoctrinated with through the education system and is largely unaware of on a conscious level.

4. Distraction is addiction. -Give them the games at the Coliseum!

Understanding the basics of addiction is essential to breaking the hold these systems have over us. Addiction is really a ‘distraction’ behaviour which arises because all of us have learned at a very young age to suppress certain feelings which we ought properly live fully. Growth though experiencing those feelings is of vital importance in the natural innate drive to reach our fullest potential. Those unlived out feelings lie within us, waiting to be lived. The urge to mature is the urge to reach full potential, and is a powerful energetic. The addictions serve to distract from the discomfort we all feel as a result of these unlived feelings.

Thus it is the person who is the active ingredient in the addiction, not the substance nor the pattern of distractive behaviour. This is why our culture demonises the addicts, and demonises certain substances that are used as distraction whilst approving of others, because in reality, those demonised addicts are those who are in some ways the most healthy, in that they refuse to suppress the symptoms of that induced failure to grow. By demonising certain substances one is thrown off the scent. They are demonised so as to confuse us, and to convince the rest of us that all is well. We know it is not.

6. Harm those who resist. - David Kelly. Bobby Sands. John Lennon. Brian Haw. Fela Kuti. Ken Sara Wiwa . Ghandi. Martin Luther King.

The final solution in the eyes of Empire is to use force, to go so far as to kill those who successfully resist, who evolve a way of thinking that exposes the Empires false clothing, and especially so if they begin to inspire others to do the same, if they begin to empower those around them. That the State reserves the right to kill, be it through the courts or through the use of Military force, ought to indicate the dreadful truth of this to anyone who thinks about it with any depth.

Using the Law and other tools, the Empire demonises a section of the people, calls them traitors, terrorists, criminals, anarchists, addicts and so those who are demonised, who are de-humanised become fair game in the eyes of the mass of conditioned people. The Jews in Poland. The Roma in Eastern Europe. The Africans in the West Indies. The Intellectuals in Cambodia. The Muslims in the UK. The Conspiracy Theorists in the USA. The demonised are different. Not ‘normal’. A threat.

And in the mythology of Empire all threats are to be ‘neutralised’.

7. Control access to food. - In nature all beings have direct access to their own food.

By controlling access to food, the powers are also able to adulterate that food. And they do. Because if our bodies are deprived of what they naturally need, of what they are evolved to eat and metabolise, they will suffer. We know now that that suffering is both physical, psychological, intellectual and emotional.

Studies have shown time and time and again that children fed good clean organic food respond with a higher degree of intelligence and physical stamina, amongst other things. We know that junk foods, sugar laden foods, processed foods and so on all contribute to ill-health, depression, extreme mood swings, degenerative diseases. In spite of the abundant research, governments still subsidise the bad food industry.

There’s a good reason for that, and it is this. We are what we eat and if we eat degraded foods, then our bodies and minds operate at below optimum levels. And that makes us easier to control.

Solutions.......

Heads up!

After my rants I had a think and want to share this with anyone who is seriously interested in people power. I have written about it before.

Please check out The Power Inquiry, 2006, a two year look into how democracy in the UK could be turned on it’s head so that we the people make the decisions, by having well informed discussions at the community level, street by street, parish by parish, ward by ward etc....and then deciding, with all the ’politicians’ confined to implementing those decisions, much like the employer/employee relationship, only more complex and transparant.

The Power Inquiry advocated removing the party whip where there are political parties, having a recall process, (being able to recall any official with a certain number of ’voters’ expressing a no confidence), no private funding for ’politicians’, transparant lobbying and much more. ..........

They carried out experiments in ’participative democracy’ all over the UK, from schools through to councils, with much success, using ideas that are working elsewhere as well as working out new ideas based upon peoples input at the grass roots level....people are naturally good at solving problems whne allowed to.

You can read about it in their book, which is available online at

http://makeitanissue.org.uk/devlog/2007/01/the_power_commission_was_estab.php

it’s a few pdf files. Read them,. really good stuff.

http://www.makeitanissue.org.uk

I read the book when it was published and it all made very good, common sense.

I also attended a conference, and worked with some very intelligent comitted people of ages ranging from 12 to 80......really inspiring.

David Cameron, Ed Milliband and Menzies Campbell all attended the conference, spoke ona panel on’stage, and gave lip service to the ideal, and then said later on, afetr the conference, that it was ’impractical’...quite patronising.. the media DID NOT REPORT or Publicise or indeed look too deeply into the Power Inquiry....for obvious reasons. The powerful do not want power invested in the people.....will not give up their fix, so to speak.

The people have to take power back.

I spoke to one of the sponsors, (an Indian Billionaire) who told me that the idea came about because some people feared a possible collapse at some time in the near future (5-10 years) and decided that people must learn to communicate and exercise power at the local level or all hell will break loose....

Suggestion : print some of the stuff out, pass the different sections to others in your collective to read, then have a chat about it all together, bringing all the ideas to each other..

Now that my anger has subsided ( I am, and always have been, really cut up about the harm caused to so many good people in Iraq, Palestine and Afghanistan and elsewhere, I cannot and will not switch off my feelings on this - they are all beautiful, real, feeling people who are being harmed - I feel the pain of this and it does not diminish me -it spurs me on.) I am looking to the solutions we must evolve and what others have done that actually works.

So check out the info, and if it makes sense please pass it down the line....

We are the media.
